i think (and i'm not making a joke here) that men realized that just saying "Hi" to 20 girls and playing the law of averages was way more liberating and easier than having to read books, go to seminars, watch videos, memorize scripts, etc.
talking to another human shouldn't be the equivalent to entering the contra code

No doubt but that was actually the strategy for many PUA's. The numbers game always works.
I just went on Tyler's (Owen Cook) Youtube channel and he is doing meditation and positive thinking type advice now.

very true. but where along the line did men play themselves and put women high up on a pedastol? as if talking to a good looking one was difficult or complex? i think with the creation of the internet men lost certain basic conversation skills. Just functioning in society out in the public requires normal confidence, which has certainly been lost with a lot of other positive personality traits that should be looked upon as normal, and not pickup techniques. therefore when talking about women online men would slowly drift towards "shes out of my league" or "no way she'll talk to me".
at some point we did it to ourselves.

It's usually the most wealthy, attractive and aggressive guy she can land(in that order)....and if she can upgrade while she still has her looks she will.
