Grandpa was the greatest high school football coach in town history. True, he was a disciplinarian and one game, he refused to let them hit the showers for two days as they traveled overnight to face the State rival. When the team finally did hit the showers though, he surprised them all with brand new towels that he, himself handed out as each player walked by on their way to rinse off. He knew how to reward hard work.
