Rec testing would be a wise decision by the IFBB. A good public view and reputation couldn't hurt.

It sure wouldn't.   Tony Freeman is overlooking the fact that weed was in his system!

We all know about PEDs...I'm talking Nubain, cocaine, Ecstasy, etc...
There is absolutely ZERO reason why there shouldn't be one is place...
BTW it should be random and an outside agency should administer the test.

Why...because 85% to 95% of them would fail the test. It'll never happen

I would say that because 85-95 percent of them would is all the more reason for the IFBB to step in and act responsible.

Another reason to do it...
When the reasoning to not test is because an overwhelming majority would fail, that says there's a huge problem.

I don't see it as a problem at all.  There is nothing wrong with the recreational use of drugs provided the only harm done is to ones self.  Nothing wrong with getting high, only getting high tying ur assistant up in the trunk and setting the car on fire in the middle of the desert.

If Craig was a prior Mr. O isn't it safe to say that the media would've had a field day with this story more like how they did with the Chris Benoit saga?

If that the case, and I think it is why wouldn't the IFBB try to step in and grab hold of the rec usage?

Because they don't want it, they don't want to test for PED's, they don't want to test for rec drugs, they don't care how prominent G4P is the industry, they don't care if a member of the IFBB is a drug smuggler, dealer or murderer, they don't care about the corruption in the judging. This is the reason why bodybuilding will never even come close to being mainstream, this is the reason why bodybuilding will never be recognized as an Olympic "sport". If they were even CLOSE to being serious about bringing this anywhere near mainstream they would hold everyone accountable for they're conduct on the stage and in public. Same goes for the NPC.....especially the NPC!

Who's going to pay for this shit?

The last time I went to a pro show, the ticket was like $75-80.  No fucking way am I willing to pay more than that just to cover the cost of nubain testing.

Because that's where it starts.

BTW, I have a feeling that all of my posts regarding this will be deleted.

Actually, I'm wondering what reason why there should be testing. Bodybuilding is about a person's physique. What does it matter if a person gets high when he's not on stage.

My feeling is that there is only one person that owns their body -- and that is you. What you decide to do with it, as long as it doesn't impede on the rights of others, is nobody's business. And it doesn't just concern drugs. It can be tats, or piercings, or climbing mountains, eating too much or too little, flying off of cliffs...

Sometimes the question isn't always about what's right or good for you but rather who should decide.
