You have to train this way because of the joint locks. when you get put in a wrist lock like Nikyo then you will know what i mean. still.. if you want the locks, throws, strikes try Wado Ryu. Great style. very strong elements of Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jui Jitsu. Wonderful.. ;D

Have done Wado Ryu, am far from expert.
Though trained with some excellent teachers.
Would like to do more judo & Jui jitsu.

try and find a Wado School near you. A very fast, light style. Forget all this "Hard" styles or schools stuff. Wado is intelligent and economical fighting. I enjoyed speaking and writing to this man Tatsuo Suzuki in the UK. I mean real letters not emails.. ;D

Judo is infact a synthesis of many schools of Traditional Jui Jitsu. Jigoro Kano was an Educator. Not like Ueshiba from Aikido who was very spiritual. Judo is very under rated.

A very Diffrent view of Aikido was from Koichi Tohei Sensei  a firm believer in KI. Ki was a central root of Daito Ryu and Aikido but he split from the Aiki kai to form his own School.

Makes it look so effort less & easy.
Some staging in the multiple attack.
Otherwise good video.

One of my wishes if I ever win the lottery and can retire from working
Would be to seek out some of these Teachers & spend some time being
Trained by them, enough to become proficient in just a few basic moves
Out of each style.

Watching & studying these types of video is of some benefit at least.

this man Toshishiro Obata was a student of Gozo Shioda ( Yoshinkan Aikido). A school which still teaches pre 2nd WW Techniques which are clearly Daito Ryu Aiki Jujitsu. intresting is Obata did have some small Hollywood roles in films.

I also liked this school of Aikido and met Shimizu sensei in Hannover. He came over to Germany very often. Has a lot of followers in Italy too. Shimizu Sensei was the last "Uchi-Deshi" of Morihei Ueshiba. Tendo Ryu is a very fast Dynamic school of Aikido with large round movements. This is shunned by some but i like it. shimizu Sensei was a High graded Judoka before he formed his school of Aikido, the sacrifice throws and Hip throws are very evident. old film from 1985 but i love it....

The Fundamental Techniques of Aikido come from the sword, Ken, Jo,Tanto. i have an original Film given to me from Reinhard of his time in Iwama. He Died of Cancer and i was really honoured to be asked by him to go on his last trip to Iwama. He was a man i respected.

I would check out a couple of schools and do a couple of training sessions before you join them. most Wing chun/Ving Tsun/Wing Tzun.. comes under diffrent names but the forms are nearly identical. Itīs only money making and internal Politics. most popular in Europe and certainly in Germany is the Wing Tzun system from Leung Ting, represented from Keith R Kernsprecht. Kernsprechts most well known student is Emin Boztepe  who teaches in the US. you hear all the time our school is better than the rest....best is look and see which teacher (Sifu) suites your personality and what the people are like training there.

This was a good series about two Americans travelling around trying diffrent martial arts. here they are in Hong Kong at Leung Tings School. the IWTA , International Wing Tsun Association. He talks in the film about "Wing chun " not being a style but he marketed his own method and protected legally the name Wing Tsun. He has moved slightly away from Kernsprecht who heads the EWTO, European Wing Tsun Organization. Kernsprecht has changed the Wing Tzun slightly to call a part of it "Blitz Defence". they all want a piece of the Pie..Money  ;) Still a good film. donīt worry about the spelling just find a teacher you like.
