Sandbag lifting
Grape Ape:
I did a Savage Race Saturday.
Normally, not a big deal, barely would have to train for one. However, Friday night went to Metallica/Pantera, got all banged up, and got up early hung over with little sleep.
One of the obstacles was sponsored by Goruck, and it was to carry a 45lb sandbag. They said you could pick one or two. Since I've done GR and always like a challenge. I took 2 for 90lbs. Usually have to carry 1000 ft or something. After I took the two, got 20 feet passed and heard the guy say to another racer "yeah, drop off is about a half mile through the woods".......was......not fun.
Then did Metallica Sun night.
Gassed. Will start working out again tonight.

Did you do the sprint or the longer run?

I did the 6 mile one. 25 obstacles.
Most were easy enough, but a couple were very challenging - in fact, one obstacle I failed 6 times before I gave up, but I did not see anyone complete it.
Found a video of it - it's at the 16:25 mark
This guy got it EASY - however, the part where we had to put the dowel in was swinging a lot more.

Awesome, Grape.
Wow, that is some incredibly hard stuff.
How do you carry the sandbags?

These were the "Jerry Can" GR sandbags....started farmers carry style, then would clean to shoulders, and also bear hug. Kept rotating. There was a stretch of path for about 100 feet where they put ropes across, like a web you had to go through - I clean/press threw them a bunch of times through that spot.
