It's good to see some competitors who carry a lot of muscle up there, like Gina and Amanda. That's a great thing for the direction of the sport. Even Sonia Adcock came in at her most muscular ever, especially at the evening show when she really filled out beautifully. It looks like Amy Fry will crack the top ten, which also makes me extremely happy - she combines size, conditioning, beauty *and* is over 5'8".
Monica just wasn't completely at her best, and the judges look for an excuse to knock her down - she gave them an opening unfortunately. I actually came away from this really Mary Elizabeth Lado, because she wasn't fully conditioned she held her size and showed some curves. I hope she can hold a lot of that size for the Arnold, as she diets down. Valerie is proof that more conditioning or less conditioning, more muscle or less muscle - the standards are different for each competitor. Some look better with muscle, others do not - some look better ripped to shreds - it's all about the combination of criteria - size, conditioning, symmetry/proportion, facial beauty, presentation, etc.
