Used to be this joint called Roy Rogers.  Served these Roast Beef sandwiches on hamburger buns.  Not like Arby's roast beef.  These were meaty slices of roast beef.  No such thing exists like this that I can find.  I think it would still do very well.

The one in NYC closed awhile ago and it was a lot worse than it used to be before it closed. I think it was a Hardees at some point and then went back to being a Roy Rogers. Don't know if the drop in quality is representative of all of them.

I just don't get this "I prefer (Five Guys, Smash Burger, Shake Shack) over McDonald's. Duh, fucking duh! You're comparing an $8+ burger to a dollar burger. 90% of the time I go to MCD is through the drive through and I'll be eating while I'm driving. There's no way I could eat a Ted's Bigger Burgers (what we have in Hawaii) while driving. It's too big, too messy and I can eat McDoubles everyday and save money.

I have five McDoubles in my freezer right now. Now when I go to work I can just Microwave two of them and eat them in my car on my way to work. No mess, 50 grams of protein, all for $2.

People go to McDonald's for price, convenience and speed. Not for a high end dining experience.

Can't speak for everyone else, but for me it was less about McD's and more about the ridiculous claims OP was making. I didn't even make a post until he started talking about the morality of McDonalds. He also started a thread about junk food a little while back and linked to an article and the article said literally the opposite of what he posted.

You don't understand what makes a business successful and profitable. You think it's because they are cheap and they exploit workers and don't pay "a living wage."

A business is profitable because they produce a good or service that people want and are willing to pay for. A good or service that enhances the quality of lives and in turn provides jobs and grows the economy and makes life and society better for everyone.

Doing good and making lives better is morally good.

And post a link about what you think I said about junk food. You just made that up.

As I've already told you time and time again, if you are selective enough about what you consider moral, ANYTHING can qualify as moral. Doing good and making lives good is moral? Your argument was that McDonald's is moral because their employees have to be nice to you when you interact with them.

People have burritos in the freezer, pizza, hot pockets, left overs.... I buy a bunch so that I don't have to go through the drive through as much. I just microwave when I want it. That's how it works. It's not complicated.

And I don't get indigestion. My family comes from a third world country. We can eat anything. We're not fussy or picky eaters. Couldn't afford to be.

I'm virtually all drive through and don't have time on my way to work to stop for breakfast. I just microwave it and eat it on my way to work. Also, it's good to have them on hand for a snack. You can buy a six pack of frozen mini burgers (Castle?) for $8 in a grocery store.. Fifteen grams of protein each. McDoubles is a way better deal.

As far as the study, it stated that junk food per se isn't the cause of obesity. I agreed. No matter what you eat it is ALWAYS excess calories that will make you fat.
