Can you believe it has been almost 20 years and it is a stable we are still talking about?
Seems like just yesterday to me. Was always a casual wrestling fan but the NWO invasion angle took me to the next level. Thank you Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

Yup, time flys by quickly. Best angle in the wrestling business ever.

Some top guys in this pic.... and Buff Bagwell. ;D

The NWO was way over..
I Would see all types of ages / people wearing the nwo gear...
It was at the same level of Austin 316 popularity..

I always remember when Hulk turned heel for two reasons:
1. bobby heenan yelling "but who's side is he on!" twice before he actually turned (nice one bobby lol)
2. the amount of garbage the fans threw in the ring. Mean Gene got hit with a full pop cup if I recall.

You could kinda gauge it as to what was going to happen. 3rd man comes out...dirty look on his face...writing was on the wall if you're a smart mark. ;)

Agree.

probably one of if not greatest heel turns ever,,wrestling has changed so much now so even if wwe was to turn cena would it matter or make impact whatsoever,,

This was when wrestling was probably the hottest ever.....7-8 million people watching WWF and WCW
My only problem was all the scrubs they added, Virgil, Scott Norton, Fake Sting, became too watered down....
I think if they left it as the original 4 (Hogan, Hall, Nash and X Pac) and an occasional addition like Steiner, may have had more longevity

And it was successful because there was no PG bullshit. Raw aired at 10pm standard eastern time when all the kiddies went to bed.

I recently listened to Stone Cold's podcast with Vince Russo and he pointed out, that during the Wars, 6-8 million people watching, now there is barely 2.5......where did the other 5 million go??
As an aside, the WWE/NXT roster is prob the strongest it has been in a while and also a little more emphasis on the Tag Division. As Jim Ross says, Hopefully business is about to pick up.
-
Even if it picks up, it will never reach the heights it once did.
Those days are lost forever.
-
I hate to say it but once Vince leaves / dies / retires, that's it for wrestling...it will be territorial again like it was in the 70's and 80's.

Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash read my thread and share the comments regarding 20th anniversary of the NWO.
