Some people say that this was Wheeler's best shape with the added size that he brought (I still prefer his 1993 Arnold Classic physique). Most people would kill to attain a physique like this. This contest had the best lighting in the history of bodybuilding. The show was stacked with the likes of Coleman, Wheeler, Levrone, Sonbaty and more. In the end Flex came in second with Ronnie Coleman coming in first.

that was great lighting. there were 6 guys there that i believe would beat heath. dexter looked tiny next to the top 6, yet now at the same weight he compares well with heath.
back to the lighting, i can't believe Arnold doesn't do something about the lighting at his show. the Ironman pro also had amazing lighting. guys would do the Ironman as a warmup then really peak at the Arnold, but the pics from the ironman would make the guys look better.

Also, it's odd how Flex, Shawn, and Dillet don't have the GH head that Cormier and Jay now have.

I dunno, looks pretty close. Phil was really dry this year and has slightly better hams/calves from the back.

yeah, conditioning of Flex was worse than at the Olympia. Flex is 2 and half of inch taller than little Phil. Conditioned Flex would destroy conditioned Phil no matter what IMO.

Watery hams and soft glutes, horrible synthol in calves, rear delts and triceps. No good flow. Levrone looked way better than him at this show and Ronnie in that light was simply an all time best showing.

Agreed. Flex at the '93 ASC would utterly destroy anyone but Dozzer and Ronnie at their respective bests. As much shit as Phil catches, though, he would hold his own. Shit, even Jay in the 2001 and 2009 O might not look too bad.

But I always thought his 1998 ASC shape was his best ever. Even better than 93 ASC, but that's splitting hairs. Both were among the best physique showings of all time. I would also include 74 Arnold, 91 Haney, 93 Yates, 98 Coleman Olympia.
