listen to this squirrel
I will quote you :
“As a teen I ran a 4.6 forthy a good friend ran a 4.2! Same age same built same workouts, why was he faster? Was he on the sauce? Or just by nature faster? Everyone doesn't need steroids to build muscle and look like a bodybuilder. “
“You damn right I'm an ANIMAL! And I would DEVOUR you!! “
“It doesn't matter if he has gyno or not, ppl here still wouldn't believe he has never juiced! Because he's at a level of conditioning most here will never reach!! Layne doesn't have gyno but ppl still says he's not a natural! Give the dude his props, and just let him compete!“
“In the past I've used pro hormones!! And I know guys who juiced 8 years ago, we have the right to compete in a natural show. If the rules say 5 years steroid free! They it is what it is! Maybe this guy used in the past, maybe he got gyno from prohormones! There are plenty of guys that's has gyno form ph's. “
.. this kid is absolutely brutal .. any chance of a pic of this beast ?

4.6 is ok Sev...I ran 4.4 when I was 185 and played football and ran track...What is the race of the said individual...Yes, that matters alot.

4.3 here. I was a 185-lb cornerback.
The funny part is that there's these two white girls who think that each of them can beat me in a sprint.
I fully intend to bust that ass this winter.

lol...When I was in the military, and was 240lbs, fellas would make fun and on occasion I'd bet them I'd beat them in a race...they'd laugh at me and I would proceed to beat the ever loving shit out of them...Speed is a gift you have it or you don't you can get faster but guys with natural gifts will always be better....I was a running back and I was a bad SOB I just didn't like football as a job...it became not fun..

And that part is only getting worse for D1/D2 athletes.
I do love being underestimated. :)

tre and wiggs = “I could have been a great pro ..but had other plans “ ;D

4.5 and i'm white
Well blacks are faster due to the fact they have an extra muscle in their thighs.. Or that is at least what Jimmy the Greek said back in the 90's.... It got him fired... :)

I could never crack 4.3 : (
HS hit 4.4's @ 210-225 tailback/ Safety ran third leg 4x100 and 100. Dropped to 195 in college for corner and tailback...same speed....never hit 4.3....I hate you fast bastards ;D ;D

Wiggs and Tre, why would anybody be surprised you can run fast? Now maybe if you guys were taking an IQ test and blew it out of the water, that would be a different story....... ;D
;)

Oh brother, some Epic Bullshit from Tre and Wiggs, 4.2 and 4.3 is the super Elite at an NFL Combine yet these two tools ran them but decided to worship she beasts and smoke weed instead ::)

Only four people ran under 4.4 at the 2010 combine and only a handful ran in the 4.4s. Getbig has some of the greatest athletes on the planet! ::)

Not everyone is cut out for the NFL, and it wasn't even a thought of mine until I'd been out of football for about 4 years and was like, "Damn, sure would be nice to be playing now."
At 5-10, I'm short, though, and could only bench 225 3 times. The path from high school to college to the NFL is a lot more complicated than most people realize and there are a whole lot of guys sitting on street corners throwing dice who had more natural talent than many of the guys you see playing in the NFL (or NBA).

Most cornerbacks are around 5'10-6', weigh 185-200 and not a single one ran under 4.4 at this year's combine. Darrelle Revis, pretty much the best CB in the NFL right now, is 5'11. The NFL would have loved someone with your "stats".
-
My brother was considered one of the fastest lineman in college ball and biggest back in the mid 70's. He had a great photo in Sports Illustrated standing next to the shortest guy in college ball. He ran a 5.1 40 in full pads at 6'6" and 330 pounds. I always thought that was fast for a big guy.

How many of those guys were sprinters? ::)
I wasn't even the fastest guy in my region coming out of high school. I've witnessed a 4.2 and that's FAST.
Your condescension only demonstrates a lack of understanding about speed. Ever seen a 140-lb wisp take down a much larger guy in armwrestling? High-level sprinting, like armwrestling, is a specialized skill. The majority of guys who go through the Combine simply go out and 'run as fast as they can', which is different from what a sprinter does, despite what seems intuitive to you.

You said you were a 5'10, 185 pound CORNERBACK, not a sprinter. Now you're a sprinter?
Regardless, you're claiming better stats than 99% of the people who participated in the 2010 NFL combine. And for what it's worth, a lot of skill position players did run track in high school. And there are some who even run in college. Trindon Holiday comes to mind. Florida and Texas also had guys who did both.

In the mid 90s, I went to school with and was friends with a dude who ran low, low 10s in the 100. Don't know what his 40 was, but he was one of the top 20 WR in the nation at the time. Skinny 6 footer, played basketball, football, track, and baseball. FSU and Nebraska recruited him, he went with Ruckers, said he wouldn't get playing time down at FSU, but at Ruckers he would. He uh, "dropped out"
Another dude I was friends with in HS and to college with was heavily recruited by Stanford and Nebraska, ended up going to Morgan State University, got a degree in engineering and is doing well for himself
When AI came to MSU, which is not known for it's basketball program, he was surprised at the talent during intramural games, because most of the guys who played that at Morgan were NYC and DC street ballers
I relate this to say, that just because people may have the talent, low 40 times, sometimes things happen. Sometimes Scouts/recruiters don't pay attention to the skinny kid with a great time, or for whatever reason. Then in time, it becomes a shoulda, coulda, woulda
Do you think Duke has the best basketball athletes? Hell No! But, they are good ball players that play even better as team, one of the reasons why they don't do well outstandingly well as individuals, once they go pro.

I was a cornerback in football. I was a sprinter in track.
The fact that this seems logically inconsistent to you speaks only to your lack of understanding about the 'jobs' being discussed.
Take a look at a couple of those drafts from 1993-95 and try to recall how many of those guys had any sort of lasting impact in the NFL. For many guys, merely getting an invite to the Combine is a big deal, but even if the opportunity had been presented to me, it's unlikely I would've followed through.
Your "Oh my god, if you were that fast, I can't believe you didn't even try to go to the NFL!" way of thinking is for the guys left behind in my old neighborhood. I was committed to other goals at the time, and never envisioned myself having a 'career' in football when I was playing.

HAHAHAHAHA, I can just envisage this little Bullshitter in College, "yeah Bro I ran a 4.3 and could go to the NFL Combine and have a chance to make Millions of Dollars a year and bang any woman I want but, Bro, Ive got my goals set on running a shitty website with pictures and videos of Women who ruined their looks by taking Male Hormones, Im going to live the dream!!!"

Several of my buddies did play in the NFL, and one of my really good friends (won't throw him completely under the bus by naming him here) was actually a 3rd-round pick with a lot of promise. He blew his entire signing bonus of about $300,000 within a few months, bounced around the league for about 5-6 years and has yet to find firm footing since retiring more than a decade ago. He did finish his degree, and he was a good guy who didn't drink much or smoke at all, but his big problem was letting women take his mind off football and that played a large part in preventing him from being successful in the NFL.
Look around, people - the majority of guys you see playing on Saturday do NOT have significant pro football careers and that's been the reality for a very long time.
I was more than content letting that be someone else's dream.

What you said about the "women", is what I "heard" happened to the top dude...a mediocre blonde chick had this man's mind so twisted, he apparently blew a full scholarship. So, I was told. I knew the girl too, and..I just gotta say, had he continued on the right path he would have been a beast...women man...
A dude I went to Morgan with was a excellent street baller but he was so much into fuking women that he only lasted one semester...his whole college career was Fucking 101...I tell you, I never knew a chair could be used for so many positions...dude could write a book on Chair Karma Sutra...if he could write

I am sure most of you know who Henry THomas and Michael Marsh are. There is one other I can't remember his name. But they all went to my high school at the same time in the mid 80's. At that time our high school had one of the top track teams in the nation and to this day we still hold a couple records. Henry Thomas was our quarterback who led the nation in rushing yards. He ended up playing with Chicago I think as a wide reciever. Well at the Sunkist meet in LA he went up against (fuck I forgot his name, the black guy who is a famous track guy and gay) Anyway, Henry tripped at the start and still barely lost to this guy by less than a step in the 100. We had some seriously fast guys at our school. I think they also went to the Olympics and won a Gold Medal. I can't really remember that much since track was far from what I knew
-
I played against Petros Papadakis the dude in the green sweater, i remember everyone on our team (Which was 98% black) all ran 4.2 - 4.3 ::)
And when watching game film before the game all the coaches were saying WE CANT LET THIS SLOW WHITE BOY RUN ON US.. all my team mates were like UGGHH He is slow im stop him coach im stop him..... Friday night came, Not one of the 4.2 - 4.3 defenders on our team could catch up to this greek, he ran for over 300 yards that game....

here's what i had to contend with at state track meets
The Fearsome Foursome
The Morris brothers of Ayer, Mass. are perhaps the most spectacular quartet of siblings who ever laced up football cleats and track spikes

So, Joe, how does it feel to be in this kind of company?
"Well, that's some company to be in, but, really, I'm not in it."
How do you compare with them?
"I won't compare," Morris says, "because I don't compare."
But, of course, he does. No less an authority than Ben Schwartzwalder, the Syracuse coach for 25 years, who retired after the 1973 season and who coached all the great Orange backs except Morris, says, "He is in their class, yes sir. He's like something out of a cannon."
A Lowell, Mass. newspaper reporter wrote, " Joe Morris is not able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. He does, however, give a speeding bullet a good run for its money." And he gives every other back in the country a good run for his money. In fact, if only Syracuse were a better football team—the Orangemen may have to play above their heads to achieve a .500 mark this year—Morris would be an even-money Heisman pick.
In sum, Joe Morris—so tough, so fast, so strong, so willing, so straight, so modest, so dedicated—ranks among the very best all-round football players in the land. He is, however, perhaps only the fourth best player in his own family. True. If they chose up sides in the Morris family, Joe just might be the last choice. Nobody understands that better than Joe, who, when told once by a reporter, "You're the greatest," responded, "No, sir, I'm just the latest."
These days he's even losing his grip on being the latest, because two of his three brothers are scholarship football players as freshmen at Syracuse. Larry Morris, 19, is a devastating runner who obliterated Joe's rushing records at Ayer High. Larry got 5,758 yards; Joe had a school-record 3,367. Larry scored 72 touchdowns, Joe 49. Mike Morris, 18, is an extraordinarily fast sprinter who runs holes in the wind (he broke all of Joe's track records at Ayer) but loves football best.
Then there's Jamie, 16, a 5'6", 155-pound 10th-grader this fall, who has everything his brothers have—only more. When Joe was a senior at Ayer High, he ran a creditable 51.2 440; last year, as a freshman, Jamie broke Joe's school record with a 48.9, and he wasn't going all-out.
In fact, every one of Joe's football records and every one of Joe's track records at Ayer have been broken by his brothers. "I ain't got nothing left," sighs Joe from a green and white sofa at home.

yep. and his 4.6 carried onto the field with all the equipment also.
One guy I would love to see run a full 100meters is chris johnson of titans. They broke down this guys speed in full gear on a run he had last year and said was little over 80% of Usain Bolt world record 100M run top speed.....again..in FULL GEAR he was at minimum 80% of Bolt world record run.
That is some serious break neck speed man. think he ran a 4.2 combine or 4.1 prob tying deion sanders....I could be wrong here.

Oh brother, some Epic Bullshit from Tre and Wiggs, 4.2 and 4.3 is the super Elite at an NFL Combine yet these two tools ran them but decided to worship she beasts and smoke weed instead ::)
I'd be inclined to believe them. In highschool I ran consistent 4.8s at a permabulked 225 along side with a couple d-line buddies at 250lbs+ who did the same. 3/4 of our defensive backs, tail backs, receivers, and even QBs ran sub 4.4 40's.We were a small 1-A highschool, so all speedsters with good hands were our ticket to winning seasons and that's how it was and has been for the las 30 years there. The slower guys either rode the bench until someone was injured, or quit playing ball because of that....and for the record, excluding one Mexican & one white guy the majority was black.
-
hahaha...wiggs and o'tre's numbers are probably legit. i did 4.57 in 11th grade, and there were several guys on my team at st aug who were faster than me.
i have crossed paths with a lot of talented cats in louisiana...who got sidetracked by dope dealing, baby mommas, murder raps (a 5-star CB, McD all-american), a need for after school jobs, bad grades vs practice, and so much more.
anyway...it doesn't matter...nothing on here really matters.

Hand timing is BS in a 40 yard sprint. Way to much human error for such a short distance. I can go to any high school and find 10 kids who claim a 4.6 or better 40 yard. They are all delusional. If they could really do that their college would be paid for at a division I school for a track scholarship . I was a sprinter in high school and college. Anyone who can break 4.5 legit is an elite athlete.
I forgot this is GetBig where everyone is an elite bodybuilder, rich; drives a 100K car and has such good looks that they have to turn down woman left and right.

LOL!!! Lotta hate on this board for people that are naturally better athletes...Yes it was hand timed...Bottom line is I was fast SOB and I'm not going to sit here and justify my time to anyone...You can believe it or not I really don't give a shit...Surprise, black guys in shape are pretty fast ::)

Have to measure my time... all this drama has made me curious.

You idiots sound like my nephew, "coach said he timed me and I ran a 4.5 40yd". Yeah right, none of you clowns have sniffed that, especially not in high school. You guys who are claiming this shit sound like the dudes in my gym when I was in college, "yeah, I used to bench 300 junior year in high school, but I quit liftin' for a while, and now I'm a little weaker" as he struggles with 135 for sets. You assholes on this board amaze me.

True, but you are running against ELITE black guys, which you are not, and your times are "supposely" the same or better :)

4.3 here. I was a 185-lb cornerback.
The funny part is that there's these two white girls who think that each of them can beat me in a sprint.
I fully intend to bust that ass this winter.
ok reggie Bush. You do realize a legit 4.3 is world class speed right? The top African American athletes in the country are in the 4.4-4.5 range.
-
Tre was a teen. Untrained and a nobody, he had the speed of the best world class sprinters
Instead of using it to achieve greatness, he chose to film roided women schmoesquatting dudes willing to pay
-
Hand timing is BS in a 40 yard sprint.
I forgot this is GetBig where everyone is an elite bodybuilder, rich; drives a 100K car and has such good looks that they have to turn down woman left and right.
bump fr the truth. What is funny is when every fat lineman even the non black ones claim they run a 4.8. Its just that number people throw out there and the fastest guys run a 4.1. Lmao iddnt kevin levrone claim to run a 4.1 at one point yet got his ass burn by that track star? Levron was clocked at 4.8 so it goes to show you how much bullshit goes on with hand times from high school football coaches..
-
3.3 here,
Backwards,
while drunk,
after running a marathon,
and while having a cold
pretty decent though
-
on a side note I still think Kevin Levrone could of been one of the best athletes in the world regardless of what he did. He was just that gifted.
-
ahahahahahahaha look at all the getbig olympians running sub 4.5's
::)
-

this almost cakes the famous Mickey Mantle who was said to run 3.1 seconds to first base. Yet the top guys in the mlb struggle to break 3.4.

"this almost cakes the famous"
you cannot understand the fucking sarcasm? what are you? retarded? ???
didnt notice the "BACKWARDS" part? or the "After a marathon" part? or "while drunk" part? hahahaha

I'm slow. 'Course I'm White, so that goes without saying. ;D
/not much of a vertical, neither
Racist post reported.
And while I don't believe in every single claim made here either, it is funny seeing Sevastase call people out. Dude wants us to believe he knows all the top secret info about everything from reading Aura to interpreting dreams to Aliens to Montauk, and that he was a gladiator 2000 years ago in ancient Rome with the one & only Stewart Swerdlow and similar stuff, but won't admit it's possible for a natural to have 17"+ arms ;D
Guess it's entertaining one way or the other, lol. Carry on, boys.

4.6 is just about a little above average for a high school). 4.2 is flatout BS. Was it hand timed or laser?

who said 4.2...coach? i think some guys said at one pt they hit mid 4.44-4.5.
i've seen your videos. i dont see any young high school age black kids in any of them at your training facility.
i came up LA Quad A after guys like marshall faulk, the joseph brothers, tyrone hughes, leroy herod, etc.
you're doing too many cycles if you're telling me those guys were 4.6 which i was...and hughes could flat leave me in his after burn.
-
Carl Lewis ws the guy
-
HAHAHA, according to that chart Tre was quicker than Carl Lewis in 88 with his 4.3 ;D Tre is about 45 right, which would have made him about 23 then, why wasnt Tre sent to win the Olympic Gold instead? With Tres 4.3 running skills he might have beaten the roided Ben Johnsons time :o
-
Perhaps Tre was busy in the Special Olympics....
-
Perhaps Tre was busy in the Special Olympics....
Tre got the phone call from the Olympic Commitee but had to hangup when the tape transfer of a shebeast posing session from Camcorder to Betamax got stuck, Tre knew which direction would bring him the glory of going to the musclemansion once a year and getting fucked by Testridden "female" monstrosities who will stoop low enough to fuck him to get on his shitty site, so he never called them back.

In all seriousness I like Tre and Wiggs both. Most likely these times were a coach trying to inflate the numbers of his team and get his players fired up. Kinda like coaches listing guys 20lbs heavier and 3 inches taller in the programs.
-
back in thailand dennis james,,,mentro found his athletic ability at 5'8" a mere 160lbs he had a vertical leap of 48inchs could dunk,,,a 4.4sec dash run dennis a true athletic baility it was once reported dennis could of done anything he wanted but wanted to turn pro and that took him many years to win and take it over melvin anthony himsesl at nationals,,,,he had the radiers scout him ut at a camp and did 225 for 50 reps cmobining dreams are not that that tell you what to do but what you wanted to do dont follow others dreams,,,thats why pro bodobuyilders are pros because they want to be with grate athletic ability some people are hidden in american socity that just dont want to show themselves

We have some super fast get-bigAz no doubt.

It was a quote from Sevs original post...
“As a teen I ran a 4.6 forthy a good friend ran a 4.2! Same age same built same workouts, why was he faster? Was he on the sauce? Or just by nature faster? Everyone doesn't need steroids to build muscle and look like a bodybuilder. “

It was reported Ben Johnson splits in his ill-famous 9.79 100 meter race in Seoul was 4.38 seconds for 40 yards, 5.52 seconds for 50 meters, and 60 meters in 6.37. Both the 50m and 60m were under the current world records for those distances at the time.
At the 2001 World Championship 100m final in Edmonton, Maurice Greene covered 30m in 3.75 seconds and 40m in 4.64 seconds, extrapolating his 40 yard (36.576m) time at about 4.24 seconds. In 1993, Getbig's Wiggs ran a 4.34 40M in his head, while Tre bested Him with a Truely remarkable time of 4.34 in the 40M
These 2 times and races include reaction time, anywhere from 0.100 to 0.150 seconds.
What's truly remarkable was wiggs was 185 Lbs at the time..I think that Wiggs may be 5 feet 7 or 5'8 at best..

Well wiggs beats everyone except 3 people on the list, and tre smokes them all.
-
Like I said, I was nothing special in high school or college. My high school coach was a former national team member, so yeah, I learned a thing or two about sprinting.
Many of the world's fastest men reach their top-end speed at the 50-60 meter mark.
Why are white people - with the exception of Jen Cowan - so ignorant when it comes to speed? ;D

In comparison to a very fast guy running a 40 yard dash, any Olympic sprinter will have numbers similar in the first 30-35 yards. 100 meter sprinters run their races in what they call phases. I believe there are three or four of them total, and mandate how explosive you must be, when to raise up and so on.
Some Olympians are explosive as hell out the blocks and run paces that rivals or exceeds 40yd dash times of other great athletes. And in others they do not. One popular case, Usain Bolt. According to IAAF Analysis Split Times, bolt's first 40(43 yds actually) meters during his 100m Olympic Gold run was 4.65 seconds. There have been dozens of collegiate players and NFL prospects that have exceeded that. But even so, it would be crazy to compare those times considering the 40 YD and the 100M sprint are two entirely different ball games.

I understand your point. The slower Bolt 40m time helps illustrate your point.
However, wiggs @ 5 feet seven inches 185 pounds, @17/18 years of age could never run a 4.3/ 40M...
Impossible..
This was also about 12+ years ago, And athletes weren't using steroids like they are today. People back then were all tiny tits. At least by todays standards..

Black men are faster than white men.

Black men are faster than white men.
No one is debating that. I think there's a consensus that black men have more fast twitch muscle fibers which are highly desirable for events such as sprinting.
-

Impossible..
We're talking about a 40-YARD sprint, though.
That additional 3-1/2 feet (to go 40 meters) would generally add about 1/10th of a second at top end.

wow..Tre is faster than Bolt in the 40.
imagine if he dedicated himself and took running serious
-
You idiots sound like my nephew, "coach said he timed me and I ran a 4.5 40yd".
Excellent post. Their gym coaches have a stop watch yelling off times as they run by. Thats as fucked up as Wilcocks past
Here is Jacoby Ford(among others) at the NFL combine. Jacoby Ford ran a 4.27. How many high school kids are going to come close to this well oiled machine
-
my 4.6L in my 66 mustang runs nice. ;D
-
hahahah not one of you fags ran anywhere near a 4.4
do you know how ridiculous that sounds
i mean yeah, hand timing can take 0.1 or 0.2 off of a real digital time but give me a fucking break

Stop being so grumpy. Respect goes both ways. I know you'll never believe or accept that anyone who is more muscular than you can be natural, so I thought I'd point out how ironic it is that you are so, when you are perfectly willing to accept much stranger claims or come up with the same.
Anyway, as much shit as I have given you and will continue to give ;D, you've got your moments and are a solid poster as far as I'm concerned :D
It would get too gay here if everyone of us were doing nothing but circle jerking each other.

liars who do cycles and try to pass as natties get no respect from me
stop comparing me to you or clowns like ach cause genetic wise we are light years apart.
PS : I'll give you an exmple that even your intellect can grasp : saying that me or Stewart make up shit about what we went through and know is like telling a holocaust victim that the holocaust never existed and he makes up stuff.

No different than the tools that claim a 500lb bench or 20'' arms.
I'm surprised Mesomorph didn't chime in with a 4.2 to ad to his list of lies.

Excellent clip.
Look at the number of guys who ran in the 4.5 range fairly easily and also without perfect sprinting mechanics.
The reason why the 40 time has long been considered so critical for receivers and DBs is that on a football field, you've got a small window of time and space to work with, so just a tiny bit more speed or quickness can help a receiver get separation or help a DB close on a pass while it's in the air.
-
i was in the 4.16 range.....

and don't forget you were not wearing gym shoes and you were only in 8th grade at the time, but you had a buddy who was even faster and he wasn't even the fastest guy in your class. ::)

Actually, running barefoot with some type of minimalist spikes attached in someway, like a sandal of some sort would in theory be better than running with shoes on. As the arch in the foot acts like a spring.

Tre,
Why didn't you ever pursue Olympic glory?
I'm serious. If your times are legit, there is absolutely no way you didn't have scouts from all sports and events banging your door down.
I went to school with a guy who was 3rd in the country in the 400m and 6th in the 200m. He was also top 3 in the state in the 100m, so he was fast for all "sprint" distances.
He had offers from just about every university in the nation for track....but he had offers from colleges for sports HE DIDN'T EVEN PLAY based on his speed.
He had offers from just about every big football program in the nation, and he hadn't played football since 10th grade!
The reason he stopped playing football was because after putting up a top 10 time in the 400m in 10th grade, he became an "Olympic Hopeful" and started spending his summers at Olympic Training Centers...first at Chula Vista (which was brand new) and then at Colorado Springs.
THAT is what happens to guys who run 4.4 40's in high school....they become Olympic hopefuls.

Eh,when they run that fast you just have to lead them a little more ;)

-
My friend's cousin's brother's friend ran a 4.29 in a 40 mph headwind with a parachute on at 16. He could've broken 4.20 easily but he blew his ACL out on the next attempt and had to hang up the old spikes. If he didn't I have no doubt he'd be the one setting the records Bolt is.
-
Tre could take him on a good day, providing he didnt have a she beast to exploit film that day.

Your intuition says that, but you'd be surprised at the number of guys who've run sub-23s in the 200 or ~48s in the 400 that you've never heard of. These are really fast times, but 6/10ths of a second difference in the 200 translates to you looking like you got blown out. A 1-second difference in the 400, and you're 10 meters behind the 3rd-place finisher. And in the 100m, 11.2s is faster than 98.8% of the world, but 10.8s is faster than probably 99.8% of the world. Despite what the numbers look like on paper, these are massive differences.
Also, most people don't understand how college recruiting works, especially when we're talking about 2A high schools. When combined with cross country, a FULLY-funded running program only had about 12 scholarships for men and since both of my college choices already had 5-6 cross-country runners on full scholarship, that left 6 for the entire track team. That's not 6 for an entering class, that's 6 that have to be divided among the entire team. Colleges just aren't sending scouts out to watch the #3 or 4 guy at a regional meet for the small schools, even though our times were often quite competitive with the 3A and 4A schools.
Many high schools themselves are also involved in promoting and positioning athletes to be compete for athletic scholarships, but I didn't attend that type of high school. Graduating classes from my high school do, however, rank among the top in the country each year in terms of ACADEMIC scholarship dollars won per person.
I know that many Americans want to believe that pure, raw talent always wins out, but luck and timing play huge roles (in determining who gets recruited and for what) and at the level of competition we're talking, tiny differences on the clock are magnified on the track.

I don't know what it was but it wasn't a 4.4 or 4.5...But I was the 2nd fastest fella in my school which was a large high school...The only guy faster was a USA today honorable mention football player in 1997...Football and track was his life and was going to be the next big thing...he works as a barber now...that's what happens when you can't maintain a 2.0 GPA...in high school. :-X..Anyway...no 4.4...or 4.5...lets just say I was fast... ;D

I was stationed with a guy who was also from NC, he had a full ride to Clemson and blew it......he flat out told me he never went to class, so after he was ruled inelgible, he dropped out of school.....he was playing semi-pro american football in Germany, while in the military....they could have 3 or 4 americans on each team.....went to see him play and he rushed for about 250 yds and 4 td's....little kids wanting his autograph....coures we ribbed him forever about it......anyway, he was the first to admit he screwed himself.....but at least he ended up staying in and making a good life for himself.

I did alot of theater on Kelly Barracks, Robinson was always open until 9/11 and the Panzer was just there...Ramstein a decent base team because it's the largest gathering of Americans outside the U.S. with 53K people...I would hope so...If I had a job i'd go back to Stuttgart in a sec...I met my wife at Kelly Barracks when I was doing a play.
-
Your intuition says that, but you'd be surprised at the number of guys who've run sub-23s in the 200 or ~48s in the 400 that you've never heard of.
I know that many Americans want to believe that pure, raw talent always wins out, but luck and timing play huge roles (in determining who gets recruited and for what) and at the level of competition we're talking, tiny differences on the clock are magnified on the track.
oh shut up already......you didn't run anywhere near a 4.2.
-

I loved Germany when I was there......Augsburg was about the right size for me and so close to Munich by train.....I went to a few outdoor concerts in Stuttgart.....I knew Ramstein was huge, but didn't realize it was that big.

The average guy, sports fan or not, doesn't realize just how many of these stories there are involving guys with high-level raw talent who never reached high levels of sporting competition. Yeah, lots of guys got hurt and often resented those who stayed healthy, but many others just gave it all away with stupidity.
Winning an athletic scholarship was never a goal of mine, nor did I grow up thinking I was going to someday be a pro athlete or an Olympian. Life took a bunch of twists that landed me here where I am today - same as athletes who wash out for whatever reason - but I have very few (non-government-related) complaints about the life I ended up with just because it's not the life I'd *planned* to have.
-
there are litterally thousands in the usa who can bench 500+.....but il bet there are less than 100 people in the world who can really run a legit combine type conditions time of 4.3 or under......imo
-
When talking about 40 yard dash times, Deion Sanders comes to mind. He was around 4.2/4.1 I believe.

tre and wiggs = “I could have been a great pro ..but had other plans “ ;D

You wouldn't happen to have any PROOF of your elite athletic accomplishments....would you ? :)
-
Since they started doing electronic timing on the 40 at the NFL combine in 1999 there have been nine players in the last 12 draft classes who have run a 40 in under 4.3 seconds.
-
After further review, and watching those videos...I'm gonna say I did not run a real 4.4 or even 4.5....Yikes... :-X
Good post. Respect earned.

Now if only Tre would come clean......but he's too busy snatching quarters off the top of the backboard. ::)

If you really could run a 4.3-4.4 at age 17, you wouldn't have had to worry about thinking that.....people would have done the thinking for you.
You don't put up a 40 time that beats some of the fastest humans in HISTORY and end up filming she-beasts. I don't think you realize how fast a 4.3 is. You would have literally been one of the fastest humans ALIVE.
You're talking about ~48s in the 400m or sub 23s in the 200m like they correlate to a legit 4.3 in the 40??
...Like a 4.3 is just a "good" time for a high school kid! lol
A 4.3 in the 40 isn't a "good" time that "guys with high-level raw talent who never reached high levels of sporting competition" put up every day at high schools around the nation.
A LEGIT 4.3 in the 40 isn't a "good" time. It isn't even a "good" Olympic sprinter time.
A legit 4.3 puts you amongst the fastest fucking humans who have ever walked the earth.
There aren't a handful of Usain Bolts, Michael Johnsons, Carl Lewis or Ben Johnsons at every local high school.
You said you were a "sprinter." Do you realize what happens when someone puts up an "Olympic talent" type time in a track and field event?
You don't have to worry about just "slipping through the cracks" and missing out on bigger things.
The first meet after the kid I talked about ran a 46 was fucking flooded with scouts and reporters there to find out about the kid who put up a "Olympic hopeful" time.
Why can't you realize what you're saying with your bullshit? You're making me waste half my Thursday for fucks sake.
-
I would like to know what track events Tre ran in high school and what his times for those were. :)
-
Finally found it. I believe he can run a 4.3 40
-
haha
I love it how tre got caught wanking at gay porn and he still insist that he is blind and thought they were girls :D
Homey : you never got close to 4.3 .. you never got close to a real 4.7 ... you were another average teenager ... wake up and smell the roses .. you are filming and pimping shebeasts for white impotents who feel the need to get choked by a pair of muscular thighs while deepthroating a penoris
not hating on you, but the way you insist with this stupidity is beyond me
I was a very fast realistic kid at 17 .. I did not lie to myself however ;)

Tre could take him on a good day, providing he didnt have a she beast to exploit film that day.
lol...
Tre would smoke that time if he took running seriously. Tre is faster than Bolt
-
Finally found it. I believe he can run a 4.3 40
In order to outrun a Cheetah, that guy's 40 would prolly be in the 3s or 2s.

What part of speed are you referring to, what school did you attend and who was the coach? That kind of time is recorded somewhere.
-
4.6 is ok Sev...I ran 4.4 when I was 185 and played football and ran track...What is the race of the said individual...Yes, that matters alot.
Mine was 4.63 as a first year senior in high school. I was 190 and played fullback.
-
I was always 1st, 2nd, or 3rd when I trained with the varsity football team my soph year in high school, whenever we did sprints. Against WRs and RBs. I trained with them all summer.
Long ass limbs and wrestling 112s at 5 foot 10. I couldn't do shit with a football, I was weak as a popcorn fart and very flimsy, and it was so obvious that i would be horrible at football that the conversation was never had.
So speed is one thing - but the guys at the combine also have a lot of other tools that make them suited for that job. I don't have anything other than hand-timed 40 times from high school, so who knows how accurate they were. I went to leBron's high school in Akron, and I was always top 3 in the sprints. But I wasn't shit for football. So yeah, all the guys on track or on the street with tons of speed - probably don't have the stamina, strength, decision making, etc to make it at the high school level, much less college or the pros.
-
I ran a 4.5 in HS and I was about the 6th fastest guy on the team. 2 of my teammates made it to the NFL, one played 1 season and practiced for 2 with the Giants as a CB. He was about 1/2 step slower than me in the 40 but would pull away in the 100. Some ppl are fast starters and fade in the end ala Ben Johnson. Others are slow starters and pull away around the 60 ala Carl Lewis or Bolt.
Another teammate was 6'4" 298lbs and ran 4.7,was draftef by the Browns or Ravens but never played for various reasons. The QB did track and was officially timed at 4.4, one of the receivers, now a cop, was faster on the team and was timed at 4.2. There's a big difference btw 4.6 and 4.2. A 4.6 equates to 11.5 in the 100. Very fast but not exactly world class. Don't see why this is hard to believe.

I'm in NY and remember when Anthony Mason Played for the knicks, I went watch a game at the Rucker in NY and they had guys who were in my opinion better than him. I couldn't get why they weren't in the NBA making millions. Alot of these guys have the talent, they just don't like being told what to do, not disciplined enough to play for a entire season, day in and day out and they have other ways of making money. You look at the Nike and 1 tour, alot of those guys would be allstart in the NBA talent wise.

they “look“ talented against other mediocre telents .. against the creme de la creme they look like they are: mediocre ;)

most dumb homies think they can run under 4.7 40 but really can't
Its part of the non reality based ego homies have
I mean we all have a little disconnect from reality.
Some people don't fight it tho.

??? ???. There's nothing mediocre about the names i mentioned in their respective fields. We're talking about ppl being able to run fast. No everyone who's fast is in any form or organized sports, just like there are ppl with incredible genetics that never picked up a weight or have any desire to bodybuild.
I'm not naive.. I've just been around some ppl who were very athletic

I'm thinking with the "backyard heros" in this thread we could give a college track team a run for their money! ;)

bvack in the summer I met a guy that was in a wheelchair...he had a nickname that related to his ball skills. I was told later on, and it was confirmed, that he was HS standout in Annapolis, and was scouted big time by colleges...this was back in the late 80's early 90's...He got mixed up in the drug game and was shot and paralyzed. Now, he steals stuf.
-
I understand why ppl doubt claims here since so many ppl come here and bs. But, a 4.6 is like saying "there're 5 guys in every hardcore gym that benches 450lbs or more", it's not that far fecthed. I know a guy who squat 2,500lbs on the smith and weight a little over 200lbs ;D. Some of you might get that from a few yrs back.

a professional athlete in your youth ::) ::). What? a professional fluffer??. Your roommate played in the NFL? If you played in the NFL you shouldn't have a roommate ;) Or is this why you consider yourself professional because of your "association" with him. Either way, go post more pics of you sis and cousin claiming its your conquest :)

Mason was a decent NBA player....but mainly a thug who was a decent rebounder and junk points guy....not exactly the type who would stand out in a no defense playground league, which is EXACTLY what Ruckers is.....and 1 is a complete joke, IF those clowns had the talent they would be "yes sir'n" in the NBA....fact.

WHAT??? >:( MAson was an allstar caliber player. he was a point forward on the knicks and Heat. Very versatile big man.. I'll admit i'm not the most objective since I'm a knick and Mason fan but seriously he was much better than decent, they changed the hip check rule mainly because of him and Oakley. He was at least as good as Rick Fox, Fox is better than decent?

this will never change the fact tat u are the retard who thinks and 1 and ruckers has NBA caliber talent.
tis is the exact reason why u are enamored with the “streetball“ : because u are a mediocre athlete... anyone who played some decent basketball can spot the differenced miles away-

The guys career avgs were 10 pts and 8 rbds, those are decent numbers which is why I said that. And the hip-check rule just strengthens my point about him being more a thug player......and a "point forward?" C'mon, he averaged about 3 assists per game......he was a gifted passer but often just selfish...
and just so you know, I actually liked the Knicks during that era too......wanted anybody to beat the Bulls.

Hey rudy: do you have any connection to Renee Richards the tennis player? (is she your father or something?)
No, not at all, why? is she your idol. Did you follow in her/his foot steps. You sorta look like a male on the outside, very twinkish male but a male none the less ;D
What sport were u pro in? Let me guess, the womans soccer team
SS: come on man 10 pts and 8 rebounds on a very good team (the knicks at that time) that's a ouble double on a dcent team. he was also a very good one on one defender

40 yard dash is only "gay" if you realize what it indicates.
