Places like LA Fitness, 24hr fitness, most of Golds (including Venice), Planet Fitness, etc, remind me of curves or a Zumba class. What you said was a compliment.

you are right there are not enough hardcore gyms left. the problem is that the corps. have taken over and there doesn't seem to be a market for HC gyms anymore

You make over 200k dollars a year and you're training people out of a storage shed with rusty weights and a 20 dollar walmart computer speakers. Come on dude, just rent a proper facility and get some better equipment.
