Africa's western black rhino is now officially extinct according the latest review of animals and plants by the world's largest conservation network.

After being a victim of increasingly devastating poaching and seeing little to no conservation efforts, the species is now gone, and others – including the northern white rhino and Asia’s Javan rhino – are expected to swiftly follow unless efforts to stop the senseless killing of them prevail.

Also many Asian countries believe that grind up Rhino horns can cure certain cancers, and other ailments. Now mind you, the horn is made up of the same thing your nails are. So in theory they could use ground up human toenails and no one would know the better.

Anybody ever see a Rhino in person ? I saw one at a zoo called "out of Africa"..a white Rhino. It was as big as a Hummer, it was the most imposing living creature i ever saw, awe inspiring.

Really sad :-( I'm not too proud or "tough" to deny that commercial about baby Rhino is crying cuz it's mom was butchered for her horn (don't google or YouTube this if ur not a psychopath) brought tears to my eyes :-/ amazing animals, sooo sad to see them killed for a bullshit supplement (horn powder?!)
