the thing about bodybuilders is that when they retire, they are still being constantly judged on their body.
But if a basketball player or golfer retires, he can REALLY retire and people will not be able to say how much skill they lost.

This makes no sense. Bodybuilders are judged by their bodies, athletes like basketball players are judged on the court.  They aren't judged when they retire, because they don't play competitive ball anymore.  How would you judge them?

its easy to see why Ronnie got beat by dorian and everyone in the mid 90's yet went on to become the greatest ever by the late 90's and onwards.

the difference is incredible :o

Here is Ronnie in 97 -- the difference between this form & 98,99 isn't that staggering. Face it, Dorian dominated during the peak years of Flex, S. Ray, Levrone, and Nasser.

No there isn't that much of a staggering difference the only real difference is his conditioning improved . he was already competing at 255 pounds in 1997 in 1998 Chad completely dried him out he dropped down to 249 pounds and won

Great pic - Dorian is owning Ray, and Nasser is so much closer to the camera that it isn't a fair comparison.  Good try though.

Dorian at his worst was still awesome!  The camera work sucks in this video, but it still gives you an idea of how good Yates was, even in 97.

He didn't stand a chance..

Lol, you are delusional as always. Dorian won the 97' Olympia with straight-firsts scores from all judges on both the symmetry and muscularity rounds over a Nasser that looked far superior to Wheeler in 98'. Ronnie won the 98' Olympia by 3 points over Wheeler. If Dorian had showed up for the 98' Olympia in the exact same shape he did in 97', he would have crushed Ronnie since he defeated by a larger margin more formidable competition the year before. ;)

That pic of Yates rivals Branch Warren for aesthetics.

As if aesthetics mattered . and you think Coleman is aesthetic? you really need to look up the definition

don't have to imagine anything.

here he is at his best in 1993 and he gets destroyed.

Dorian retired because he had injuries that were slow to heal....and I think he realized he didnt want to abuse steroids and GH in his late 30' and early 40's.

Ronnie had nothing to do with it

Hulkster how does it feel getting beat by your own hero once again?  ;D this was NO WHERE near Dorian in 1997 and Ronnie with marginally improved conditioning and a bigger gut is supposed to beat Dorian at his best? LMFAO

every single advantage YOU claimed Ronnie would beat Dorian he has right here  ;D same taper , same great arms , same back & giant quads , same details , same great delts LMMFAO and less of a fucking gut to boot !!

Dorian at his absolute worse crushed this utterly !! imagine what he would do at his best  ;)

Hulkster owned by Ronnie again  ;D ;)
