Last night I learned that the executive branch is putting wheels in motion to sell American Airlines (of all things), to foreign investors. Apparently congress is up in arms. This has to be one of the dumbest moves of all time. We are in the midst of extremely hostile times towards our country and yet this moron thinks that giving outside interests control over our airspace, flight patterns etc. is a good thing? This is too much for even me to brush off. George it's time to go.

Umm.. American Airlines is a publicly trade company under AMR Corporation.

There are already Foreign investors with shares in the company.

Umm... FAA controls the airspace.

Admittedly it was around 4AM last night and I was pretty shot as I was watching the story. Seemed a very hotbed issue and not something to just brush off.

He is. Inc ase anyone wonders, the reason NORAD couldn't shoot down planes on 9/11 is that all their orders went thru Cheny.

norman minetta, cabinet member (transportation i believe) witnessed Cheney being asked repeatedly "Does the order still stand? It's 20 miles out. 10 miles out. 5 miles out." Cheney said "Of course the orders still stand, have you heard anything different?"

Would be VERY interesting to get Cheney on the stand and ask him to clarify. Since all shootdowns went thru him, it's pretty likely that young white house aide was asking about the plane appraoching at exactly that same moment, eh?

I think Mr. Cheney was hiding in his bunker trying to get really drunk and hide the fact that he crapped his pants.

On 9-11 no one controlled the airspace that was the major problem.

I would image if a major hijacking of multiple planes happens again the FAA and NORAD would fail again.

If anyone wants to really know...

The Truth about the FAA.... I have a close family friend whom i've know over 20 years who holds a very high level job with the FAA and has held a position as an "air space manager".

So you don't have to rely on some blog/forum or web site full of "wanna be experts" or "truth movement" experts.

So perhaps all this bull shit speculation by people who think they know how things work and of what should or shouldn't have happen can be put to rest.

Nooooooo.... Ummmm......... NORAD could have taken down any plane in the air, they could right now if they needed to. There was another reason why they didn't take down those airliners.

You know Military Jets intercept planes that fly to close or over no fly zones all the time. So why couldn't they do it on 9/11? NORAD doesn't need the FAA, they have there own radar and can dispatch jets anywhere around the country.

240, didn't they send many planes to Alaska for some kind of drill before 9/11?

yep, I was at Vancouver Island that year (98/99) and i can confirm that the airspace was fullup

I asked him that a few months ago when i started debating with 240. He said absolutley no. He explained to me what happen on that day and why. It was a little complicated. But made sense.
