I've mentioned this band, here, several times.
This past Summer, they opened for two bands mentioned in this thread, Lenny Kravitz and Rival Sons, and, by many accounts, smoked them both:

Just Googled the first few pages of Souls/Sons reviews, and while many are complimentary, none even suggest a comparison, much less any smoking. No more than a few sentences each, really, no clue where you got this.
i think they're great, especially the drummer, but they're just a powerful two-piece is all. How much damage can you really do with that?
Having seen pretty much every significant act of the 80s and 90s, only prime Pearl Jam matched what these guys bring to the stage. Tool/Rage had the energy, Black Crowes/Blind Melon, the soul; only PJ had both, like RS.
