There is a rumor that Darrem Charles will compete in Pro Division. I doubt it, but we'll see.

As On_Swole posted he never even qualified to do a proqualifier.
He seems a cool guy, so I mean no disrespect, but assuming PDI gets any pros to switch he will not be competitive at all. There's some asskissing being dished at him as he seems like a nice guy, but realistically his physique is not pro-caliber.But as he said, he has nothing to lose...
Also...if the guys can do both IFBB and PDI as has been mentioned, obviously many guys will take advantage. Other than that I do not see Darrem switching.
We must remember one thing, most of these guys make the alot of their money in appearance fees. The NPC/amateur IFBB is established with hundreds of shows a year around the globe that hire guest posers....PDI cannot compete with that.
Darrem is one of the most in demand guest posers there is. I doubt he'll want to give that up.
Edit: This guy has posted he is considering going PDI. I think he looks good.

How is PDI going to attract an audiance? I would rather pay 30 bucks to seee real pros. The PDI may sound better than IFBB but without big names no one will go to there shows

Initially, the athlete quality won't be the same. As the money talks, the athletes will walk. By year 3, the only people to stay with teh IFBB will be those under Weider contract, who make more from their deal than they do from show winnings.
But visually... some of the things they have planned are just off the chain. Sick creative. Not like artsy, but more like action/visually stunning/cool kinda stuff.

If the pro division is paying the cash they say they are you better believe alot of ifbb guys will jump ship
Guys like Haider Charles Ruhl jackson MM Rockel Priest Freeman Jones could all make the jump.... Why not compete where you can win money. Shit these guys will never win a major show anyway what do they have to lose.
All those guys have large fan bases and if this thing really does happen it will prob only be a matter of time before the whole second and third tier is gone over...... Plenty of fans and sponsors in those guys
I hope the iffb burns. They treat the athletes like shit and the judging is crap.......

He's making money in the IFBB. He has no reason to switch.
Where is he making money? The only place he's making any real money is in the sponsers. Prize money is few and far between and it isn't that much!

Remember when he was winning all the small shows? At $10k a pop, it adds up. You're right, of course, that he makes the bulk of his money from sponsorships, just like all of them do, but what makes you think his sponsors will let him leave the IFBB?
He spent 10K on each show.

To me PDI should make a serious run at Toney Freeman. The IFBB buries this guy in the standings at every show he does and he's an elite level pro IMO. He would make a credible "champ" for a new organization.

My post was not rude in any manner, I merely stated my opinion. YOU wanted to go pro. YOU got your info out on this site. YOU wanted to be put in the limelight. I did not just decide to discuss you. Also, bear in mind I am a competitor myself, and have won medals at the IFBB world amateur level. I am not some overweight keyboard warrior who has no clue. I am just stating my opinion, which I did in a respectful way.

Don't mess with the Master's Mr. Delaware. He's the next and last NOC champ in the Yahoo Account Federation. And then every IFBB champ is going to run away from the Olympia's $600,000 prize purse and the Arnold's $300,000 prize purse and all their sponsorship deals and weekly guest posings in the NPC for a chance at $15K top prize in a possible show in Hungary. :P

Ok you are the first PDI athlete and maybe you will do well but we have yet to know the other competitor so for that particular reason, I don't even know why people are talking about the PDI.

Actually this reminds of when I use to live in California back in the early 80's. I drove a Ferrari that my good friend Eddie Murphy let me borrow. I met him during a tennis tournament that I had set up for all my celebrity friends. We ended up going back to my multi-million dollar condo in So-Cal. We all hung out in my pool while Charles Barkley played the piano.

respectful, or not, the facts that cq present are wrong. I have qualified for and have competed in proqualifiers. If you are going to critisize someone get your facts straight, because cq does not have his or her, or whatever facts straight, that person is an idiot, i stand by my comments. As far as cheering for me, I have plenty of real supporters in the world, losing you as a supporter,(as though you ever were one) is not a big deal, in fact I am probably better off.
All my life, I have been shutting people up with my successes, this is no different. You knuckleheads have made it so easy for me now, even if I don't win, as long as I beat one former ifbb pro, it will prove you all wrong.

The point is simple, I won the 1997 Nabba North America overall, and yes 97, Nabba world championships(to do to the worlds, you have to qualify). I have won and placed in many other npc/nabba contests.

You guys can question all you want, bottom line is I am qualified, and frankely, I need to get good recent pics up. The PDI should make it mandatory that if you are not a current IFBB pro, you must qualify through one of their amateur shows. What does it say about the PDI if their pro division is made up of guys who can't even place at the NPC Nationals? I know they need to buid up a pool of pros to get the shows going, but this seems to be an indication that Wayne is having a hard time getting talent. If the NOC is made up of 25 Jack Londons, it won't matter how good the set design is. Hopefully, some name guys will cross over and make it worth watching.

That is a good strategy and it works for 240 , as you know. In all seriousness, you probably have important enough things to worry about that Getbig won't get you too bent out of shape. When you actually have a life it is very hard to care about message boards too much. But once you have too much time on your hands...meltdowns are just around the corner :D

Excellent. I saw Mario about a year ago at the Mecca. I've got his number somewhere. I'll give him a ring and have him check-out the forum. He spent a lot of time traveling in India & China not too long along. He is very much into the Martial Arts these days. If you remember, he fought for several years. His Kung Fu is very strong.
You obviously know how to handle the give-and-take here on the Getbig boards ;D. Lots of guys just post anything they imagine, without doing too much thinking first. No harm... no foul. Shawn Ray deals with them with a good attitude as well. Everybody has 20" arms & bench presses 500 on the internet. ;D

If you are going to critisize someone get your facts straight, because cq does not have his or her, or whatever facts straight, that person is an idiot, i stand by my comments. As far as cheering for me, I have plenty of real supporters in the world, losing you as a supporter,(as though you ever were one) is not a big deal, in fact I am probably better off.

There is alot of PDI information flying out there on far too many threads to keep track of.
Craig and Kelly received a board and I don't think the traffic was as bad as this.
Besides PDI topics and opinions are going to be here alot longer and be far more active then Craig and Kelly.
Personally I was excited and very interested about PDI when the first announcements came to pass, but now I am having to decipher through numerous threads, several with blatant lies from all sides and I am getting extremely frustrated with the whole thing. I am starting to hate the PDI thing becuase of this. Is this really fair? At least with its own board I could go there and get the information that I seek and those who don't want to hear about PDI can avaoid the area so we don't have to read all the bashing about it.

Yea, but what, 8 shows per year. How many are in your town? Real Pro Bodybuilding could use another federation. Once again look at boxing. WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO. The lesser known are like small local bodybuilding shows. If guys like Lee Priest or any of the other top 10 IFBB pros go over, than we'll have spread the live shows around the country without just 2nd. and 3rd. tier BB competing. This would also be a great way to see how much of a fan base bodybuilding has. It'll be great to know if a basically undergrown sport can make enough of a profit to stay in existence. And that will be the test. If they can stay around for a few years and get the sponsorship and $$$ it takes to run a proper federation. I could see a superbowl, with the top from each division vs. the top from the other, with a balanced panel of judges.

From what I understand there has been 6 Official press releases from Wayne. Two major magazines have done multiple page interviews with him. He is releasing press release and information systematically. The people who are arguing and saying this or that won't happen I will bet have never promted a show, have been involved with BB behind the scenes and evidently know nothing about promotion.
What is the biggest single topic on the most visited site regarding BB on the Internet..........the PDI. No one is talking about the Masters Pro, other that Shawn no one is talking about the Colorado Pro, no one is talking about the New York Pro, hardly anyone is talking about the Olympia which is what a couple weeks after the NOC. But just about everyone and every thread has some mention about the PDI. And it will be that way up until the show. The PDI is getting 6+ months of publicity for there first show. How many thousands come on Getbig a day and here about the PDI. As of right now more people know who is competitng in the NOC than the Colorado Pro.
This is perfect marketing and promotion. Keep the people talking about it. It makes it bigger and bigger. You people really need to think more before you type. i somehow find it hard to believe that you truly think lee won ONLY on his name and his arms. maybe his back has gotten smooth, or came out smooth in his last show. but his legs are still very good. arms phenomenal. chest is ok, but in proportion anyway. small waist without the huge distended "abs" that most mass guys have. hate to break news to you but lee beat other guys who also had "naem recognition".
i agree he isnt at his best. but i wouldnt call a smooth back in a single show or even 2 shows as constituting his being washed up. if that were the case, then half the IFBB would be washed up already.

The only way he beat other guys with NAME RECOGNITION was because it was the Aussie Pro dumbass..... Ask Cormier and Rockel who should of won in Aussie 2005.... Ironman... no one and the ONLY show i credit Lee on a win was the San Fran ..but that was a Long time ago ...and his back has been smooth for a WHILE not two shows... and he has no seperation in his quads.

Depends are where you live. If I remember it was Illinois listed as the least attractive feature to women that a man can have, but where I live it was more popular with women than anywhere else. Read that out of stuff or maxim or one of the other similar mags about a year ago. I can cut my hair too so it's not exactly a good comparison. :D
