Health care in the USA is only good for rich people. We have quality service, but the prices are absolutely astronomical. A simple doctors visit usually costs over a thousand dollars, you don't see the problem with that?

Ask doctors how much they are going to like this. I have family members in the medical community, and many doctors are in an outrage right now. Medicare patients are being denied left and right already. This bill is going to drive the good docs out of the country so they can make the money they've earned through years of schooling and residency. Many doctors will be retiring early. I'm in an MBA program where doctors are enrolling so they can sit on boards and make money that way, as the money is leaving the medical profession. QUALITY health care is going to die on the vine with this bill, just wait and see.

Like many others, I voted for him on the promise of a better approach to foreign policy. Bush was a foreign policy nightmare, and Obama looked to be the polished, articulate antithesis of GW. Unfortunately, Obama has turned out to be marginally better than Bush in foreign policy matters and is MAINLY a SOCIAL REFORMER.

I've worked in a retail pharmacy for a year and now for the past 2 I've worked in a hospital. Our policy at the hospital is to discharge the medicare patients ASAP as soon as their lab results or tests come back ok, as opposed to private insurance patients that we want to stay as long as possible because private insurance pays the cost in a timely manner and the full amount. A lot of doctors won't even see medicare patients, and I know in the bill it says docs will get more money if they see goverment insurance patients but that is a crock of shit because the current system does not work. It takes 6 - 12 months for medicaid and medicare to reimburse the caregiver (pharmacy or doctor or hospital)
Medicare only reimburses the hospital 88 cents on the dollar. Only 88% of the cost is paid for, the other 12% is written off as a loss. When a hospital dishes out millions of dollars worth of services the 12% loss comes out to a significant number.
What I'm getting at is when the government will control a large portion of health insurance, nothing will change as far as timely reimbursement and FULL reimbursement. Why do you think that Walgreens will no longer accept Medicaid patients as of April 16th or 18th?

It is either in the banking system or being used to increase the operational efficiencies of his business, i.e., it is being used to serve the health care needs of individuals even better in the future. I will admit that Canada's system is pretty good and in terms of averages, is normally ranked ahead of the American system. Having said that, Canada does not have over 10 million illegal aliens to provide health care for nor do we have the vast welfare state that the USA has. There is more to freedom in the USA than just those two things. Don't get me wrong, things do get overgoverned and stupid laws are made over minor incidents, however generally so many people are fuck ups what do you do? You cannot continue to keep on raising the debt ceiling without there being some serious consequences that will probably be soon upon us. Rapidly disappearing manufacturing base, rising unemployment, low-wage service based economy, two wars going on, billions in foreign aid(#1 Israel, #2 Saudi Arabia), reckless and stupid spending, trade deficits, welfare/food stamp/Section 8 handouts, medicare fraud, millions of unskilled, non-assimilating, nationalistic immigrants pouring into our country, devaluing of the dollar......and people continue to debate stupid shit like rednecks throwing a brick through a politician's office window or if Obama is a communist or not.
Government finances should be run like a business, but it never is. People who want all these things that are taken for granted, like, you know, our military, police, fire, roads, schools, social security, medicare, etc....think all this shit is paid for out of some government bottomless bag. It isn't. Our debts will catch up to us.
So which is it? Forgiveness of all debts? Sink the dollar, and start a new commodity-based currency? Or let the US become the world's biggest garage sale at rock bottom prices?
I want to say that for all the flaws I've mentioned before about Canada's health care system, it is pretty good.
I also want to say that for all the praise I've given to the free market and insurance companies, the American system does have flaws.
Neither system is perfect.
With that said, making something "free and universal" is not going to automatically make it better. Some will certainly benefit but others will certainly suffer under the changes to the US health care system.
When you have systems....any systems that are big you're going to have flaws that will never be resolved, there is no such thing as a "perfect" system. But create a "system" that will bankrupt (we pretty much already are) a country is unacceptable. Lets face it, his ONLY goal is to get the people to depend on the government then tax the shit out them to cover the costs. If he was the CEO of a company he would have been out in the first 3 months.

I don't know much about Christianity, I am Muslim, but I do know Christianity stresses people are equal.
The thing is not all people without health care are lazy. Tons of companies get by without giving or offering their employees health care because they can and are cheap. This makes them do it or pay a fine. Many working people do not have it because they cannot afford it with the job they have. Health care cost a lot of money if you employer doesn't provide it.

Most of us have at one point or another but not all of us depend on government handouts to get back on our feet. I say "our" because I was there at one point. Socialism makes the lazy lazier.
