Shawn made tiny bits of progress yearly whereas a guy like Yates upped the dosage,got a lot bigger consistantly every year,but ruined his lines in the process,by being out of proportion and developing the first big gut look that prevails today........in essence,he helped fuck up the sport.

Ray probably used no where near the amount of gear Yates did,and regardless of titles won,most would much rather have Rays physique over Yates`.

everywhere you look, Yates is being bashed.

sad really, because its not his fault. Blame the IFBB for giving him wins he did not deserve.

Personally I would have much rather looked like Yates when he retired than Coleman, by a long shot.

Wow so your response to your strawman if to cherry pick lol you're now reduced to picking out what YOU precieve as flaws on Yates and then gloss right over all of Shawn's faults , bias and preference account for that , you like what you like it doesn't mean what you like is better especially when contests are considered

if we're simply talking aesthetics , Shawn beats Dorian hands down I would personally rather look like Shawn any day of the week than Dorian or Ronnie , however that issue means nothing in the context of professional bodybuilding contests , you can argue that maybe it should but that's an whole other issue

the way bodybuilding contests are judged Dorian easily beats Ray and would beat Ronnie

  When it comes to Shawn Ray vs Dorian, it is not ricket science. Dorian had all the attributes Shawn had sans aesthetics but with 55 lbs more muscle. Shawn's physique was prettier, but he was not exactly the picture of perfect symmetry. He had small calves, shitty forearms, short quads, narrow back that was very cut and defined but lacked thickness. He also had an inferior structure to Dorian's, with a long torso and short legs. Dorian had everything on Shawn except for aesthetics. I'm sorry, but a smaller waist and rounder muscle bellies is not enough to make a bodybuilder better than another.
