That was in 1977, two years after he retired. He was off the drugs and wasn't even training hard at the time.
Arnold and Sergio were the best in their era. No one was even close!

This is just a pathetic thread.....Arnold had a superb physique.... The guys today look like f_____ing garbage compared to Arnie.
You need to check yourself......you know nothing about a quality physique.....todays standards SUCK!!!!

Yes, prior to the filming of "The Villain," Arnold was under contract to Colgate Toothpaste, but sadly the ads were never shown in North America.

Arnold's era through to probably Haney is the last time these guys had physiques that a lot of people actually wanted to emulate and still had some kind of aesthetic quality to them. Since then it has become packing as much muscle ( and often oil)onto a frame that can barely take it. It is enjoyable as a circus sideshow but it has definitely changed in a fundamental way.
For me the guys today look pathetic by Arnold's standards.

Infinitely better. Arnold looked like a work of art.
Todays bodybuilders are short stubby, bloated cows with bad lines, bad skin, no hair, drawn and prematurely old faces, distended stomachs, comically huge legs and asses. They are nothing more than huge, striated, 280 pound lumps of shit. Their appearence is so off-putting that they completely erased the work that Arnold did to get the sport into the mainstream.
Professional bodybuilding is a fucking joke. I'm a fan of the sport but I accept reality.

arnold looks awesome, and so do many others of that era and i would even say 80s 90s and the current guys. Its just as time passed by, more and more bodybuilders sucked ass compared to guys that looked good. its true that they look like freak shows, half all that weight is in there asses and bellys so who cares if they weigh 260 or even 300 pounds, its all in the wrong places. you cover there faces most of the physiques look the same to me. Give me arnolds body any day over the majority of the new guys out there. dont get me wrong every era had good guys like padilla, frank zane, sergio, haney, lee labrada, berry demey, bob paris 90s had kevin levrone lee preist, shawn ray, chris cormier, and there some guys out now that are pretty good like cedric mcmillan, dexter, and a few others, but as far as quality who wants to wallk around with a big gut,thighs that rub together and huge watermelon looking asses, too me that looks stupid for bodybuilding purposes, maybe for freaking out people at a gym its ok but not for competing on stage.

I heard a crazy story once where Rick Wayne, Arnold, and Joe Weider were having breakfast and Arnold took 8 D-bol with his coffee, and told Rick Wayne he took 8 with every meal (true story).

The thing I find most impressive about Arnold is the fact that he was more than happy to come off and be seen off the gear. As much as he was THE dominant bodybuilder, and THE person who made bodybuilding mainstream, his self image was greater than the way he looked physically and not just tied to his body. Gotta respect that.

some others i guys i think were pretty good besides the guys i mentioned earlier were charles clairmonte, vince taylor, thiery pastel, benafatto. too bad its all about the size game nowadays with no quality and symetry behind the physique

Rick Wayne himself has actually been on tv and stated that arnold was on 1 or 2 dianabol a day and compared to todays drugs would be like he wasnt even on anything. I think it was the documentary "arnold schwarzenegger: made in britain"

That is a low dose compared to today. 8 pills x 3 meals is 24-32 pills at 5mg each around 120mg day. Today gym rats take 100-200mg a day of D-bol
