Title: The reason why you workout?
Post by: gymrat01 on August 23, 2008, 03:50:18 AM
Why do you workout? that is the question that all of my friends ask me. I have several reasons. first and foremost i do it to be healthy. I also do it to attract the opposite sex. And lifting weight does my body good. I think it is funny when people call me meathead and shit like that, b/c it is funny looking at thier tiny undevoleped bodies. They are just jelious. So what are some of the reasons why you all workout
?

Because I'm the only person on Getbig who isn't a natural born monster.  If I didn't workout, I'd look worse than the average guy.

Started out as being solely to be more attractive to girls and to craftily eye up girls in tight lycra that shows the outline of her delicious vulva and gooch.
Now it's habitual. My mind needs the gym more than my body. I need to workout. I enjoy the journey there, the workout, the swim, shower and sauna. I have dated two girls through training.

I am pathetically addicted to the whole process.

The reason I workout is because everyone should be doing it and most do. Don't think you are some new breed of human superiority because you workout, its average.

obesity levels disagree with you. For the first time ever, nearly every countries average life expectancy is falling. Most don't workout.

Maybe most people in your social circle workout, but the majority do jack shit.  That's why most people look worse at 25 than 20, 30 than 25, 35 than 30, etc.  I'm 35 and have the best physique of my life.  Most guys my age are over 25% bf and ashamed to take their shirt off at the beach.

I do it because I like to improve myself in all aspects.

It makes me feel good when people comment on how huge I am, or erroneously assume I'm using steroids.

Agree. Most guys hit 35 and are train wrecks. I'm now the oldest guy on my baseball team (ie. the guy I used to make fun of!) and, despite some nagging injuries, still banging 'em out of the park and playing outfield.  :)

Totally agree with that.  Turned 30 this year and best shape fo my life.  Plan to say the same thing when I turn 40.  Plus the majority of the population looks worse as they age, so not only do you look better than ever your peers are looking there worse, which leads to epic levels of still being able to get this at an old age. . . .

I started lifting to impress chicks.  After spending time on getbig, I started to become dillusioned that working out was important only in order to impress fellow men.  Now, after realizing this is gay, I am back to working out to impress chicks.  I, thankfully, have not recieved a comment on how big my arms from a guy in sometime.

?

These are cool reasons. However, I don't think the amount of protein I eat is healthy, and I don't think normal minded, attractive girls actually find massively muscled men particularly attractive.

On the plus side: I don't think they find it unattractive either, and if I get to feel big and strong, eat the junk food I seem to enjoy so much without getting fat, and without repulsing the opposite sex, then I say bodybuilding is more good than bad, for me anyway. Some guys seem to lift because they are insecure and mental. Whoever you are the feeling of regimentedness and dedication is awesome too.
