Title: Who is braving the Black Friday crowds?
Post by: LurkerNoMore on November 25, 2022, 06:04:44 AM
And what you getting?

Seems like retailers are now being a bit more sensible and pushing most sales online to keep the drama and bullshit from erupting inside the stores now days.  Should be a good day for new World Star Hip Hop material though.

Lurker... No sir.
I ventured to the gym at 6 AM, came home, took a nap like an old guy (or like a lazy bodybuilder does), took a shower and put on the PJ's for the entire day.
Wife and girls are putting up the tree today. Ill eat some food and take another nap.

We dont have many "hip-hoppers" in this area, but Black-Friday surely can attract knuckle-heads of every size and color...

Will the workout at least be dedicated to the day?

3 sets of chimpin’ outs

3 sets of window smashes

3 sets of trample walks

3 sets of rag dollin’

3 sets of TV carries

I've never gone shopping on Black Friday, likely never will. I have enochlophobia. Being in a crowd to save a few bucks isn't worth the panic it causes me.

I had to go to the grocery store Wednesday afternoon for a few items the wife needed.JFC I guess everybody in town did their Thanksgiving grocery shopping at that moment. I stood in the cashier line so long I said fuck it and grabbed a Bang energy drink out of the little refrigerator display and popped it open while I stood in line for about a half hour

I dunno about American but in the Asia Pacific region Black Friday is pretty much 1-2 week sale period.

Bought an Xbox 4TB HDD for $50 off.

Mum spent about $6,000 on some house stuff. Anywhere from 25%-50% off. Some good deals for sure.

I have a MTB trip coming up so I might look around for a camcorder and see if any sales are good. Usually used is a better deal but worth a look.

Drove past the Citadel and those bozos were sitting in their cars backed up onto the 5 freeway for 2 exits on both sides. Fuck that. I suppose that's a good sign for the economy but that line was hours long, just to park.

Stopped  by a local Target, main aisle to pay was the length of the store w/ a lady directing people into certain check-out lanes..
Walked out and went to the market next door instead... No sales tax in my state, so Massholes (sorry Rob  8) ) come over the border by the thousands.

Why so much walking?
…That’s the job …. (I patrol the inside of the Mall/ others are outside in a truck patrolling the outside) it’s a big double decker mall ….we have phones with various scan points posted around the mall that we have to hit every ten minutes…. And also I love to walk / exercise! (I stopped doing all cardio at the gym and get it from work only) I think I have ADHD or something … I hate to hang out in Dispatch or the office and prefer walking the mall!

Makes sense now.  Is that the norm every work day?  I can't imagine doing that regularly.

When I was in Thailand, I was averaging about 14 miles a day during my shopping days.  I would take the SkyTrain to the "center" (best spot for pharmacies) and after finishing there, walk to the Siam district to shop there for my parents in the various malls, from there walk working my way back from Nana, Asok and onto Thong Lo.  It didn't feel like much as I was only aware of the combined distance because I had just gotten an iWatch for an early birthday present before going.  Kind of surprised.  I am sort of looking forward to going on my gig to Tokyo in May and Paris in June to see how much I walk then as I do more there than in Thailand.

yea …. I average on the low end 10 miles … on the high end 15 miles per 8 hour shift (again that’s me overdoing it ) but I have Been doing that now for a decade …..( it got me ripped and keeps me there) I look at like I’m getting paid to do my cardio!

Does it ever get boring? Although the people you see are ever changing the storefronts, benches and kiosks stay pretty much the same. When I go for a walk, bike-ride, or drive, I try to avoid taking the same route coming back as I did going. I agree, compared to hanging out in one place like a dispatch area or office, walking is preferable.

A camcorder?

Yep.

I typically do red bull race drone type stuff for mountain biking but the camcorder was an 80s style you don’t see often anymore but it can pickup speed crazy well with the manual fast zoom.

Social media got very into cinematic up to 2020. They all bought RED cameras and then quickly realised pro gear is total shit due to low battery life, noisey fans, huge storage requirements and a God Spec PC to actually edit footage. You don’t really hear much about RED anymore as those YouTubers mostly went back to using Song for vlogging.

I have/had pro camera gear but it’s not what I bother with anymore.

honestly when I’m at work it’s the “ Hunter Labrada diet” (whey protein shakes with rice cereal in a blender ) I obviously can’t sit down every 2-3 hours for a good meal (takes me 60 seconds to pound down a shake) I make the shakes up the night before and put them in a cooler and stick them in the work refrigerator… so I’m getting anywhere between 6-9 shakes a day / night … with having all my teeth extracted I kind of got used to shakes ……. They digest fine and give me no stomach or gas problems (was drinking egg whites and had severe gas/ stomach issues!) everyone is different tho ..

You sound like Titus in the kitchen back in ‘02. Liquid egg whites. “They digest just fine.”  :D
I’m with you on shakes for convenience and calories. I do two 700 calorie shakes a day with whey iso, walnuts, coconut water and a cup of oatmeal blueberries. I couldn’t imagine eating 3800 calories everyday of just food. My teeth would be falling out  ;)

Are "mall walkers" still a big thing?  Used to be the old farts would get in the malls before the stores opened and do their walking in the AC.  I believe that years ago there was a push to ban this on account of injury liability and such.

No lol that’s still a thing! (Mostly with older retired folks …. We actually open the mall up an hour earlier for the walkers (before the stores open) and of course you get some homeless people trying to hang out all day in the nice air conditioning…. I usually have a heart and leave them alone / unless they are filthy / smell really bad and or are pan handling …..we get a lot of career criminals that work together and hit various malls all in one day (double park rush in … snatch some merchandise then run out to a waiting vehicle ) we work hand in hand with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s office and have  deputies on payroll for all shifts … we carry handcuffs and mace and also have a PBSO holding cell in our security office ..  so it can be fun at times!

Old ladies can be very brazen. At the post office while waiting in line a woman who was clearly my senior squeezed my bicep while complimenting me on being fit and asking the obvious question, "Do you work out?" That was a couple of years ago. My biceps shrunk during the no gym COVID-19 period.

When I was in my 20's I worked at a major department store here in Portland. A lot of the same craziness you speak of going on in the mall went on there. Although my job wasn't in security, a friend of mine who worked security had some hairy stories to tell.

Quick oats are almost as high glycemic as table sugar.

Bad to eat unless you want to eventually get type 2 diabetes.

4g of carbs = 1 tsp sugar

34g carbs = 8 1/2 tsp sugar

You make out like you are a human pin cushion. LOL! Are you being serious? How often were you pinning? If an area is veiny, it may be more difficult but still important to avoid hitting a vein. As for your delts, what gauge needle are you using? I used to inject test in my butt once a week which was literally a pain in the ass because it was difficult to see what I was doing. Awhile back, I switched to my thighs. The 22-gauge needle slides in like it is going into butter even though there is little fat there. The veins are more visible, so it is easier to avoid hitting them. Rarely, I'll get a very small hematoma which is gone in a day or so.

21 gauge to draw it out / 23 gauge to pin (twice a week 2 cc’s each …but if you do GH you are daily pinning your delts and that contributes to scar tissue even tho it’s an insulin pin) I can’t really avoid veins they are literally everywhere delts / glutes etc … skin is also paper thin so that made me leery to pin the glutes …. This is just to show you the kind of shape I “ walk around like” most of the year ….strict bodybuilding diet / cardio from Work and some “ super supps” veins are cross crossing everywhere!

Is the glycemic index still a thing though? It’s kind of useless since nobody sits down and eats a pile of potatoes or white rice by itself on an empty stomach. Having fiber, protein and fats will affect glycemic response

If it is testosterone we're talking about injecting, I think pushing that thick oil through a 25 gauge needle could be problematical. I used to fill the syringe using a 19 gauge which did make this an easier task. My doctor prescribes 21 gauge, but I switched it up to 22 gauge because this seems less menacing.

II have a high pain threshold. This helps when using a syringe.

The finer needle might go in easier, but if it takes several minutes to inject the contents, this seems counterproductive to me. I prefer to get it over with faster, even though once the needle is in there's not much pain. When a medical assistant gives me a shot, he or she literally jabs it in and pulls it out before I have a chance to think about it. I have no problem donating blood or having blood draws for labs... I watch the vials fill... weird.

It is hard to imagine how a insulin syringe could cause significant scaring because it is so tiny. My concern when using fragile needles is that they could break off which I suspect would be uncomfortable. I use 1/2" 30 gauge to inject HCG twice a week into my stomach area. Sometimes the needle bends which doesn't hurt but suggests it could easily break.

My doctor also prescribes Tri-mix which is injected directly into the penis. Even using a tiny gauge insulin syringe, it may cause scar tissue. To do give myself a shot in my dick, I have to put myself in a totally different headspace. On the plus side it is pretty much guaranteed to give me an erection, whereas the "blue pill" doesn't work, (oh the joys of having had a prostatectomy). It is fortunate that sex isn't foremost on my mind in my old age.

My skin has thinned as I have aged. Fortunately, the veins are easy to see since they are large and literally sit proud of the skin's surface like a 3-D road map. Your vascularity is noticeable in photos. I'm guessing you have a huge network of smaller veins just under your skin's surface.

Naw, it flows decent through a 25g.  Actually, all the TRT clinics here in FL give you the 25g in the package you get in the mail and you are supposed to inject in the quads.

In the 90's a guy I was getting Testoviron amps from told me he was all out but that I could get the redijects for the same price.  I took one look at that harpoon and told him to go fuck himself.  LOL.

Here's a story from an old timer at the gym....  back in the late 80s / early 90s, a gym owner was selling homemade Finaplex in 5cc containers for $20.  This was the glass test tube types with the thick rubber stopper at the top.  He was buying them from a blood donation supply place.  So you know the test tube vials with the sealed stoppers that I am talking about...

He had only done one cycle before of test and had syringes left over that he used to draw and shoot with from the Upjohn vial.  He said he tried using it with the finaplex tube and the syringe was getting bent and everything.  So he swapped to an 18g.  He said he pushed the syringe in and it drew up just fine but it was like hammering a spike in his ass when he injected and he literally cried tears from the pain.  He was using the same syringe.  Pushing it through 1" hard rubber and then pulling it out and pushing it his ass  He didn't even know you could swap out the syringe with a fresh one.  He said he gave away all his vials to his buddy and when his buddy started getting swole up, he asked how he could handle the pain from the injections.  His buddy - who didn't know you could swap out syringes and barrels -  told him that he just pulled the stopper out and preloaded 5 syringes at a time.

He went back to the gym owner (who was an idiot himself) and was going to buy some more and the gym owner was out but had some homemade Ralgro in stock and sold it to him.  Which he said fucked him (and the others using it) up big time and left them with a swollen hard gut.

Obviously, not a bunch of rocket scientists worked out at that gym.

Haha I used to inject with 18g and that was fucking brutal. Legit harpoon.
haha I accidentally did that once. I drawer it out with an 18 and forgot to change and jabbed that thing in my hip without thinking.

Damn Mike, your vascularity is off the chain......looking great !!

Quick oats are almost as high glycemic as table sugar.

Bad to eat unless you want to eventually get type 2 diabetes.

4g of carbs = 1 tsp sugar

34g carbs = 8 1/2 tsp sugar

I assume you are talking about the little cups of microwave oats.  That you add water and throw in the microwave for 60 seconds?

If it is testosterone we're talking about injecting, I think pushing that thick oil through a 25 gauge needle could be problematical. I used to fill the syringe using a 19 gauge which did make this an easier task. My doctor prescribes 21 gauge, but I switched it up to 22 gauge because this seems less menacing.

Bullshit.  Although I no longer use, I've with the exception of a couple 23g jabs in the ass (nh) exclusively used 25g to inject delts and quads.  Zero issues pushing it through the pin.  I would draw with a 22 or 23 though.  Also, I've pushed test cyp into my tri's using a slin pin.  Again, zero issues.
