As the contest was getting closer and hype was growing around Kevin , he was seeing that the legs weren't responding. Should have pulled out of the battle of the era nonsense , and be humble enough to RECOGNIZE that his legs were not up to the challenge anymore....  And yes , the special guest pose blast from the past at the O would have proven that he was still a warrior at heart willing to go in elite shape ( for his age) instead of being crushed by anyone who flexed next to him.

A prime Levrone would have smoked any of those so called "bodybuilders" on that stage. The same could be said for any number of pros from his era.

He trained for less than a year after not training seriously for many years and came in looking like he did. And he stood next to current competitors, many of which are 20 or more years his junior. And on a lot more shit to boot.

Kevin didn't come to win, he came to inspire. Goal achieved I'd say.

Yes good point. But I personally respect him more for stepping onstage. There are plenty of too many models who wear jeans in the gym and take photos under perfect lighting (not to mention the photoshop) to give the illusion of having a better physique than they actually have (see Rich Piana). Kevin donned the thong and sock and went under the bright lights where there is no place to hide.
