It's an issue of there being a shitload of damage.  They're working to fix it, but seriously, millions of people without power is going to happen, and it's going to take a week.  We go thru it in FL almost every year - power goes down for a few hours or a few days.  NYers are acting like Obama is personally golfing with the electric company workers lol, with bloomberg pouring sodas.

I remember talking with my wife (then girlfriend) when she lived on Guam. She was getting her place ready to get hit by a "super typhoon". She was telling she might not be in contact for a while. I watched a news story tonight where a lot of people were doing nothing but complaining that things like electricity and such weren't working, like somehow the damage was going to be fixed the next day. Get real people!
