You are somewhat wrong.

Czech Republic, like Sweden, is fairly non-religious. Still Christmas is, in both countries, a big holiday. Christmas are celebrated by many atheists.

The economy of Czech Republic, while certainly not on par with USA or any of the western European countries, is rapidly growing, catching up.

One example are the excellent Skoda cars, that are actually built on the same platforms as Audi's. It's the poor man's Audi, one could say. And a damn fine automobile.

Sure, there is still the a little of the "Eastern" (vulgar fashion and music, hairstyles from the 80's et al) mentality in Czech Republic, but it's intergrating with the rest of EU fast.

Czech Republic is a beautiful country, with very nice women.

A nice country to visit, the country side is very undeveloped, people living in houses without electricity and warm water, et al. Like USA or Western Europe hundred years ago/ early 20th century, so that is something you may want to check out.
