Horrendous fashions from your youth
« on: May 02, 2016, 11:48:53 AM »
Was browsing a nostalgia thread on another site and was reminded of these monstrosities:

I'd have happily sold my mother into the white slave trade for them and this plastic piece-of-shit:

Thank fuck we were poor.

Really? They weren't big in the UK, not sure why I craved them so bad.

These were more the fashion:

(I remember having to get the kitchen cream cleaner and toothbrush out regularly on these badboys)

Just remember t-shirts never fit.  We always wore XL regardless of how big/small we were.

They were huge, looked like diver's boots.

I wanted this shirt and matching print jeans

they were comfy though.   I got this new pair of adidas sneakers... bottoms so thin I can feel the ground with every step.  I regret not getting some Nike Air's.

Haha you'd have been the dogs bollocks back then. Now? An outfit like that'd probably get you filled in.  ;D

My mate used to rock massive fubu jeans and wu wear tops. I had two gold hoop earrings and wanted a gold chain badly. I cringe now looking back.

These were big in the uk back in the day:

I'm pretty sure I had the outfit on the left...

I also had a leisure suit like this that I wore for my 1st holy communion.  Cool car though...

Haha, holy shit I used to have those exact jeans!  ;D

Thankfully they came up a little short in the leg so I binned them.

I used to like SPX trainers as well as British Knights. Shocking fashion back then.

These were really big here in the States late 80's - early 90's. Then they fell off a bit with the younger kids.

Late 80's - early 90's, you could actually see dudes dressed like X-clan going to real jobs, etc.... Especially in areas like Brooklyn -

.

Also, Cross Colours was big early 90's -

Z Cavarricci and clones were big for a bit, sort of a Miami Vice meets Bensonhurst look. Especially among the Italians and Latins, the Latin guys usually had more, and fancier silver work on their belts -

30 years ago a kid would get the living shit kicked out of them in school wearing glasses like this.   Now it's considered cool and trendy.  Even people who don't need prescription glasses are wearing similar large black-rim eye glasses just to be portrayed as being a cool intellectual.
