Unbelievable nonsense. Jay simply has to do what is necessary and sufficient to compete. He doesn't have to do deadlifts and other dangerous lifts. Obviously he is smarter than the typical gym rat who gets no where.
i have the 2004 "Battle for the Olympia" DVD of Jay, 3 weeks out, doing 315LB on Barbell Rows and 315LB on T-Bar Rows, followed by 140LB dumbbell rows. It looked fairly easy for him. Those weights were lighter than what he would normally use, but it was because he was dieting.
Now, he seems like he is trying to avoid injuring that bicep again.
