i developed an irrational hate for jay cutler
i saw a very lean but no size and a lot of veins black guy in the street today and i nodded my head and said "all diuretics" to myself

This is what happened to me... I never really looked at it as gay... I was inspired by the big guys... their look.
Trying to achieve that comic book super hero look.
Now, I realize there's a lot of homosexuality in it... When you're a teenager, you just don't see it. Getbig was a real eye opener.
Oh... and it really is "all drugs".

Every girl ever is based on whether or not there genetics will match up to mine to make some ubermensch.
I'm intensely critical of anyone that claims to be an expert or claims to hold up to any standard of ethics.
I've started valuing people based on their body structure. Big mistake, just because a guy got a solid hip to waste ratio and thick quad's, don't mean he can fix your car.
On the up side, I've recently went to the big city and noticed no one that is half way normal could never don "the thong".

Then i figured i could help younger people not to fall in for the so numerous traps, not to make the same mistakes most of us made revolving around the question of lifting weights. By destroying their illusions, and explain to them what are the true motives behind most of their models who are most of the time narcistic egocentrical losers who would sell their mother in the name of vanity.

then message boards about bodybuilding, years of reading from knowledgable bros, how much they cycle, all exotic stuff, gh ect and what not, then they post pic and your like wtf?

i realized i dont have to be so hard on myself, when before i even started competing, i was ahead of those who thought they were bodybuilding. not those who are serious and actually compete, but 99 percent ahead of general population of bodybuilders, gym warriors ect

No...that works...and for what it's worth i agree. First time i went to the Olympia expo i was expecting to see droves of people that pwned me....and they weren't there. of course the competitors and booth people looked good, but the regular folk...not so much

before coming to getbig i was always really uneasy reading bbing message boards. i constantly wondered "are... are these guys for real?" when they would go on about how hardcore they were in the gym, how much they loved lifting weights, how awesome they were at preparing chicken and rice, what great genetics they had, etc. i felt like the only "normal person" in a room full of crazy meatheads.
i also avoided any steroid boards or discussions about steroids, which wasn't really that hard considering there were more than enough people who wanted to talk my ear off about the latest training techniques and supplements...
coming here was a breath of fresh air in some ways. it also made me much less trusting in general. i imagine most people go through a period in their life where they learn to doubt before they trust. some learn as children, when abused by their parents; some in highschool, when they fall out with their longtime friends; some in the work world, when they realize they've been getting screwed over by their coworkers; some not until they find their wife cheating on them. well, i learned at getbig, i guess, when i finally realized all the "natural bodybuilders" that had made me feel so pathetic were, well, far from natural.

I did not think badly about the fitness or bodybuilding industry. However on here I only see the worst stories are told. I thought it was all about good health, and vanity. Like above, about comic books and heroes, you don't think the worst. Many of the fitness/bodybuilding women/men have profiles on facebook. No problem, but when you really open you eyes what is going on.

It's practically eliminated all my TV watching. I know a lot people say being here is wasting your time and your life. That you just do it to kill time. I don't. Where else can you go where you get to discuss, debated, argue and fight with on such a variety of issued from people all over the world?
We all share one common interest -- bodybuilding, but what keeps us here and keeps us active is just the staggering range of subjects address here and the motley crew of characters that I've gotten to know over the years.
I've pretty much been to all the other bodybuilding boards. The only other one I was active in was IronAge (which is the board that made me aware of this one). But that's because I'm an oldster and they talked about the time when I did follow bodybuilding (I pretty much missed out on the the whole Haney, Dorian era and only caught the 2003 and beyond Coleman era). But even that got old after a couple of years. How many times can you keep talking and looking at pics of Arnold. Plus I got banned. GetBig trains you to speak your mind and put the tiny tits in place. Most boards can't handle that so they just get rid of you,
If I was doomed to solitary confinement and had just one board to choose from for my only contact with the outside world this would by far be the one.

forums are probably my favorite part of the internet. where else can you have discussions with such a wide array of people? so many people spend their time consuming absolutely vapid shit -- newspapers, magazines, blogs, etc. all written by miserable monkeys hammering away in their offices. despite internet forums' reputation for trolling and silliness, you'll nevertheless see more honest, serious discussion and insights in a couple weeks on a good forum, where experts speak their mind on their own free time, than you will in a lifetime of reading the journalism / advertising schlock that suffocates the whole media-filled world.

forums are probably my favorite part of the internet. where else can you have discussions with such a wide array of people? so many people spend their time consuming absolutely vapid shit -- newspapers, magazines, blogs, etc. all written by miserable monkeys hammering away in their offices. despite internet forums' reputation for trolling and silliness, you'll nevertheless see more honest, serious discussion and insights in a couple weeks on a good forum, where experts speak their mind on their own free time, than you will in a lifetime of reading the journalism / advertising schlock that suffocates the whole media-filled world.

yup....I started in late May. People seem to have a hard time comprehending this. I was natural, every six months or so i would start a thread saying i was gonna take the plunge, but never did. this went on for years, and then i finally did.
it's really not that complicated, but it seems to have hurt a lot of feelings here.

It's one thing to post pics that are ten years old like you did. It's one thing to post contest pics when you are in a certain condition that you've have been training for months to achieve and maintain for just a small window of time. Not everyone, in fact most, don't want to be up on stage in a thong. But what kind of condition are you in in everyday life which is what matters to most of us here? You can call it "homo" as much as you want, as if standing on stage in a bikini is masculine, but it's the best we can do because being on stage is not our thing.
You say I'm old, skinny, and don't train with weights. OK, I put up pics about a week ago during an argument with Basile. So has Groink. No prepping, no carb depletion/loading, no pumping up, oiling up, special lighting, skilled photographers. We're not competitive bodybuilders so we don't know all the tricks to hide our weak points so we take a pic just standing relax. Looking like how we do in everyday life. You have to compare apples to apples. Comparisons under the same conditions.
I'm 51 years old. You claim I don't even train with weights. I'm not a competitive bodybuilder. You should be able to be to destroy me with no problem. But I already know you won't. You're a competitive bodybuilder so the only reason you wouldn't post pics of yourself of what you look like right now is because you look like shit. That means a 51 year man who doesn't even work out looks better than you.
