They don't look as big no, this is because a ripped arm gives the illusion of bigger size, than an arm wich has more fat.

Yes, Magnus would dwarf almost anyone in real life. He doesn't even look like a steroid user. He's just naturally huge and strong.

I think the fact that he is so tall and everyone else in the gym is tall and wearing large jackets makes it harder to judge.
