This may be a dumb question, ...but once you d/l all the parts, ...how do you get them all in one file?

It figures that a failed actress would turn her back on her chosen industry and chose download instead of purchase a ticket at a theater

If I'm a failure, ...there are tons of actors who would like to fail like me.  8)

Will Smith may be bankable, but I'd hardly call him the "only" bankable black actor. They're all bankable
Denzel has also made more films than Will Smith. I also cannot think of any "misses" Denzel has made.

You always choose the right tool for the job, and if you want an "actor", you know who to cast.
If you want a comic, you know who to cast. If you want someone to look pretty while shit blows up around them,
...again you know who to cast. Will Smith has been very good at choosing the right material for him.

Both Ashley Judd and Sandra Bullock passed on "Million Dollar Baby". Hilary Swank took it and made it her own.
The same girl who was fired by Aaron Spelling for being a "bad actress" went on to win 2 Best Actress Oscars before the age of 30. It's not 'JUST' about the actor, it's also about the material, and the supporting players (cast & crew)

Can you picture anyone other than Sylvestre Stallone in the role of Rocky? Well guess what?
The studios originally wanted Rocky to be played by Ryan O'Neill. Can you picture that? Do you think it would have been the same movie? Do you think it would have had the same impact? Is not that Will Smith alone is bankable, ...they're all bankable, ...it's simply that he knows how to pick his material. He's been exceptionally good at that, and with the exception of "Six Degrees of Separation", has not ventured out of his box.

Don't get me wrong. i'm a fan of Will Smith, and I enjoy all his work. Infact, I enjoyed 'Men In Black' the other night, and just finished watching 'Independence Day' 30 mins ago. I have both copies of 'Bad Boyz', always enjoyed him in 'Fresh Prince' and loved him in 'I am Legend', etc., etc., ...but there is no comparing what he did in any of those films to what Jamie Foxx did in 'Ray'. Not even on the same level, or in the same league.

It all boils down to the def of bankable then.

Will Smith has a bigger box office, but he's not more 'bankable'. There is more to it than that.

Jamie Fox has the most range of them all...Will Smith is a black version of Tom Cruise...No range what so ever(showed alittle bit in the P/of happiness but very little)...Has all the charisma in the world and that is why he will forever be a huge draw...But as far as real actors, Will Smith will never be on that list...Denzel is another one that has all the charisma in the world but every single film he is in, its like he plays himself...

Now Johnny Depp is a guy who has some serious range...A totally complete actor...

Will Smith attempted to show some range in the pursuit of happiness but kept going back to all the same facial expressions of his role in Independence day...He has about as much range as Tom Hanks...Even when Tom Hanks played a dummy, it was like he was playing himself...

What do you mean? i thought it meant making money for studios

I mean it in a development sense. From the very start of a project. You're looking at it from when the film in already in the can and ready for release, ...but an actor's "bankability" is relevant much earlier in the process. In order for films to get a green light, most often a star has to be attached. Once a star has attached their name to a project, producers are then able to get investors pouring in, as well as additional personnel coming on board. I'm saying that certain stars who may not have produced as big a box office over their film careers, can get films green lit faster than others who have. Not only can they get the green light faster, they can also attract more talented personnel signing on to the project from cast & crew. When you have the best cinematographers, the best makeup artists, the best costume designers, and the best editors, SFX, stunts, pyros etc., you can make one heckuva film.

When Eduoardo made "Between Strangers" on a virtual showstring budget, many people, myself included agreed to work on it simply because of the bankability of his leading lady. We didn't even know or care what it was about at the time, we knew it would be a worthwhile experience because of his leading lady. Infact, all the unions gave special dispensation for personnel all across the board to accept work on the project for less than union scale, ...and we all jumped at it. Some actors are individual walking talking breathing living economies in their own right, ...and that's bankability.

No disrespect intended to either actor, ...but look at either Kate Winslett or Leo Di Caprio.

"Titanic" was huge, ...then too was Gerard Butler's opening weekend for "300", but none of them could pull together bankers and investors faster, or with more assurity than certain other actors.

Tom Hanks has an incredible range. Have you seen him in "Streets of Philadelphia".
I just caught him in "Charlie Wilson's war", ...and he was a whole nother person. (kind of sexy even)  :-[ {blush}

Yes, ...but before you can get to the box office draw, ...you have to get the project made to begin with.
When it comes to getting a project made, DeNiro is far more bankable than Stallone imo.
Unless Stallone is making a Rambo or Rocky, you can forget it ever seeing the inside of a soundstage, let alone a theatre screen.

Doesn't compare to his witty fun character Kip Wilson on the TV mega-hit Bosom Buddies.

no but i've seen him pay in the movie "Philadelphia" as the homo and it was Tom Hanks being Tom Hanks with a gay twist...I haven't seen Charlie Wilson's war but caught about a 3 minute trailer and it was Tom Hanks exactly...He may very well have just about as much range as Julia Roberts...Which is next to zero...At least he is not like Cruise who is a straight out over actor...

So Tom Hanks is exactly the same in "The Green Mile," "Forrest Gump," "Streets of Philadelphia," "Apollo 13," "Turner And Hooch" and "That Thing You Do?" ::)

There are always going to be common traits within actors. Hanks did lose his southern drawl in "Gump" while yelling in the Army scene. But to say he has no range, what's your criteria for that?
