Running an online biz is the easiest way to make money if you know what you are doing. And even if you don't know what you are doing there are online resources available to assist you.

I have been running an on-line biz since July of last year and I continue to build the biz every month.

Its only the 12th and I have generated over $4,200 so far this month.

Work under 1 hr a day and set my schedule when and how I want.

My goal is to earn 1 mill this year.

And by the end of 2012 over 25 mill.

Only down side is too much spare time on my hands so the days do get bornig.

Yeah. I do freelance web design/development but won't go below a grand for the most basic static site. Unless it's for friends or family, then I won't go below 2 grand.

is that if you can't sell in person, you will never sell on the net.
if you don't know squat about seo your a hobbyist.
also the commissions paid for non adult stuff is pathetic.
the commisions paid for adult are shaved. you are cheated on a regular basis.

I've been running an online business for 9 years but I didn't really make it a top priority until 2007 when I was laid off at Alltel.  Its now my main source of income however a large of of the income I make is still from the good old telephone.  

While most small purchases are just point and click, when someone is about to make a major purchase and spend some serious money, 99% of the time they are going to make a phone call and ask a lot of questions.  Its vital to give them the answers they want and not try to just shove them to a website to look for the answers because they'll most likely go to someone else's website.

Even in the age of the internet, the telephone is still king.  If you don't have the customer service skills then you're likely to not do too well.

People think they'll make a mint merely by having a web presence, and nothing could be further from the truth. For the most part, if you can't sell it offline, you're not going to do well online. There ARE exceptions, of course.

One of my latest client's e-commerce site isn't doing as well as he anticipated with regards to sales figures. Of course he figured as soon as he had some exposure he'd retire off the income he generated from his site. I explained to him how e-commerce would work with regards to proper advertising, both on and off the net, and that it would take time for results to appear. His products isn't one that appeals to a large demographic either, and is more suited for a small-medium sized niche.

I explain this to my clients prior to setting up their e-commerce sites, but they still hold on to their unrealistic expectations. Then again they probably think they'll win the lottery any day now too.
