Yes but WADA bans all kinds of supplements. For running and cycling events I think they have tested for caffeine levels in the past. WADA tests for Marijuana which I would argue does not enhance performance.
Pretty sure Errol Spence was baked for his fight versus Crawford. He certainly looked and sounded like it even before he got the snot knocked out of him.
I guess my point is: just because WADA bans it, doesn't mean it's effective.
That being said, I've never actually tried ecdysterone. For all I know it may work wonders. About 20 years ago it was the new natural miracle test booster. But for whatever reason it didn't really seem to catch on.
Here's something to consider. Just because something is a drug and many athletes use it doesn't mean it actually works as assumed. And conversely, just because something is "natural" or legal or not banned doesn't mean it doesn't work. Most of the drugs on the banned list either don't work or aren't very effective. And there are a bunch of drugs not on the banned list that do work to increase athletic performance. They may not be banable for political, societal, public health, or other reasons. Compared to many banned doping drugs creatine works absolutely massively. Every compound has to be evaluated separately.
Is ecdysterone worth taking? Almost impossible to say. I couldn't say it does absolutely nothing. The Russians did a ton of research on herbs like Leuzea Carthmoides, which is rich in ecdysterone and other plant steroids and they used them in athletes. For example they claimed they could extend the anabolic effects of steroids coming into an event and coming off for testing purposes. Russian pharmacies sell these supplements for active people, but then again they sell a lot of stuff that's probably ineffective, and that's including drugs. Lots of drugs in the US PDR are ineffective.
Even the much joked about HMB does have biological effects that may be useful in some contexts. Like disuse muscle loss.
Douchette still sells it, and I think the More Plates guy too. Douchette was getting his ass kicked in a few weeks ago for signing one of the most unnatural fake natties around claiming it was "Turk Builder" that helped him.
Always hated the dose dependent hustle, it almost never works out well for normal people price and lifewise. In the end, just buy real drugs. That way your Deca will really feel like Deca.
The turkesterone saga was eye opening to me. Not because turkesterone itself is terribly interesting but because almost every supplement company thought they were buying real ajuga turkestanica herb from China, turns out it was all fake lol. They relied on some faulty testing methodology. No one obviously offered refunds and many still keep selling it. If you can't even get a herbal supplement right then that's sad.
This Russian product might be real
https://cosmicnootropic.com/products/turkesterone/That Ukrainian store which has US domestic shipping is fantastic, soo many Russian and Ukrainian drugs I'd love to try LOL. Several dozen, like a Meldonium/Mexidol combo inject:

But shipping and customs clearance to me would be a bitch.
