Interesting factoid: If Trump and DeSantis decided to run together in 2024, one or the other would have to give up Florida’s Electoral College vote, which would be a huge loss given the size of Florida’s population. They can both run from the same state; however, the electors cannot vote for both of them from the same state (Amendment 12). Of course, Trump could move back to New Jersey or New York (and maybe keep Mar-a-Lago as a vacation home). I know first hand that Florida is strict on residences and will figure out where you are or are not.  I can’t see Trump making that sacrifice. But maybe. Of course, it would be unwise for DeSantis to go along with this. Trump and DeSantis might not win, and if they were to win, Trump would probably end up just as unpopular the second time around, shooing in a Democrat rather than DeSantis in 2028.

Trump is done but the circumstances that brought him forward are stronger than in '16. It wasn't Trump that made Trump President. The dude can't even get out of his own way. It was the Democrats inexplicably continuing to shaft and vilify middle class white America. People are more sick of it now than they were in '16. It's too far gone for them to walk it back, and declaring anyone who won't follow them to the fringes to be a Bad Person will make them bleed members and they won't win any new ones. It's a craptastic strategy. They'll basically become the Soy And Socialism How Dare You Party once they lose the anti-Trump thing, which will go about as well for them as it did for CNN.

If I were placing a bet: '24 Dem will be Hillary again. They have no one else in the bullpen. She'll face DeSantis and lose.

The only one who beats DeSantis is Tulsi but the Dems will never let her in. She would have trounced Trump in the landslideyest win ever but even after four years of shrieking about Trump being The Devil himself they prefered to risk a squeaker of an election with a crusty old man, who was too frail to even campaign, because he was on script for them.

Wild Card:
If the Libertarians and Tulsi can get it together you might see some shit go on. Yeah yeah they only ever take 2%. But if the Republicans are still poisoned by the spectre of Trump, if the Democrats are seen as fringe indentity, zero-liberty, economy killing socialists....Tulsi is a political thoroughbred. Any party that puts her on the ticket wins the election. The Mises Caucus should be sending her roses every single day. If anyone could carry a third party to victory, it's her.

I said earlier a DeSantis / Tulsi ticket would rule.

Another out of the blue prediction here: Gavin Newsom emerging? He would sweep the Northeast and possibly Georgia and Virginia just as DeSantis would sweep Florida, the Mountain West and the South. But who would do better in the Midwest is the question? He may be an alternative to Biden in 2024, especially for Democrats who think Sanders and Warren are too far Left and old news. He has a lot of baggage within CA (but got re-elected handily, and by a higher margin than DeSantis will get re-elected in Florida) but that baggage is not too well known outside CA. Same with DeSantis, baggage at home but a fairly blank slate at large.

Both of these two can pretty much write their own futures.

She'll eat his lunch after bringing it home for me to heat up for her, shaking her hair slo mo, shoving me back onto the kitchen table and asking me who's your President.

Where you born in Australia? I'm fascinated with the ancestry of that island. Were you descendent from a criminal? Do you have any aboriginal blood? It must be easy to trace.

I like a good story.

I was born in a log cabin which I built with my own hands. I credit a steady diet of witchity grubs for my charisma and sexual prowess, which is legendary in the koala porn genre.

A girl I met in London brought me here. You know I'm from Jersey originally.

Is your gov heading for the white house?

A man from Jersey, choosing to stay in Australia.....I bet you have a story to tell.

I'm not a politician, nor am I a fan of politics. However, the older I get, it seems to be affecting me more. The polls agree that Biden is terrible. To get that low of a % means that many Democrats also feel that way.

The next President will have to purposefully tank, in order to do worse.

True. I liked Iowa every time I drove through it. It always gave me a good feeling, and I just liked everyone I met. I can't say that about anywhere else in the world.

I was born in Wisconsin, not that I remember it, and all my dad's people are from Illinois and Indiana. Maybe that's got something to do with it.

No one will understand why but I might take a vacation in Iowa someday.

I once spent a few days in Iowa when I was 21. It was really nice. Went to a cool Irish bar and a bunch of other places - the people were great.

I like Iowa too. Along the Mississippi River on the east side of the state are beautiful bluffs and great views of the powerful river (and even some little sandy beaches where I saw people actually swimming when I drove through). But I really like the little clean scrubbed towns on rolling hills in the middle of the state, that have kind of a German flavor, more so than the New England flavor of Illinois and Michigan and Indiana. I once stayed in a Holiday Inn in Des Moines where the Miss Iowa Pork competition was being held. As out of staters, we laughed our asses off but those Midwest Farmers’ Daughters were HOT as The Beach Boys would say. They were not the least bit porky.

Also, people make fun of the Iowa State Fair where all the politicians show up, but I was there on a beautiful summer afternoon and it put me back 40 years or so to my childhood.

That's cool, man. The views sound great. And I'd have been totally up for viewing a Miss Iowa Pork competition back then, lol.

DeSantis should only pair up with Trump if he has a desire to commit suicide.

I know Trump makes his own decisions, but I actually believe that if DeSantis momentum continues, Melania and the kids will advise him to back off.

Iowa is the corn state. 90% of its land is agricultural. What's not to like?
