Great thanks Royalty. Stil some questions remain: did he use this "fight to the death" as an excuse for a bad conditioning / placing? He was 7 days out of contest, were these " injuries" visable at the contest? If was never ever confirmed this actually happened right?

According the Flex's close friend, Chris Cormier, Flex was out of shape for the 1997 Olympia. Flex was very frustrated with himself. One day, as Flex was monitoring his condition in his bathroom, Flex lost his cool and punched the bathroom mirror. Flex sliced his hand in the process and had to go to the hospital.

He made up the carjacking story so he would look heroic.... and it backfired.
