First Polls Close in New Hampshire, Romney Ties Obama
« on: November 05, 2012, 10:19:56 PM »
Dixville Notch, the sleepy unincorporated in northern New Hampshire, enjoys a historic status as the nation's first precinct to report election day results. And this year, President Obama has tied Mitt Romney, 5-5.
Historically, Dixville Notch has trended heavily Republican, but Barack Obama became the first Democrat to win the small early vote in 2008, defeating John McCain by nine votes.

Dixville Notch's turnout is incredible. The 2010 census found 12 people who lived in the township, 10 of whom were registered voters - and all ten voted.

Thats it...civil war.

HH6, why didn't you mention the other town to close polls at the same time?

Residents of two tiny villages in northern New Hampshire headed to the polls at midnight, casting the first Election Day votes in the nation.

After 43 seconds of voting, President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney each had 5 votes in Dixville Notch.

In Hart's Location, Mr. Obama won with 23 votes, Romney received 9 and Libertarian Gary Johnson received 1 vote. Thirty-three votes were cast in 5 minutes, 42 seconds.

The towns have been enjoying their first-vote status since 1948, and it's a matter of pride to get everyone to the polls.

Hart's Location Selectman Mark Dindorf says you could call it a friendly competition to see who gets votes tallied first, although he says Hart's Location is a town and Dixville Notch is a precinct.

Last election: "Hart's Location had eight Democrats, eight Republicans and 13 undeclared."

the correlation between the repub candidates and voters is funny. they all hate facts, love lies and never own up to anything.

You have MCWAY posting month old polls going on about a football "rule", coach posting clearly false propaganda acting like a braindead quadrapelegic and 33 who is emitting so much despair now that I'd would be surprised if he not only ends his post count at 99k but also his life.

Shit, forgot my boi tomy, the drunk angry dude who makes one-line quips about rich people keeping there money, like the bankers... bad example.

I can picture him in a one room shack the struggling with the twist and press top of his mint flavored liqueur (listerine), drooling yelling at the computer muttering fast and furious, fast and furious under his breath as he passes out.
