Mariusz Pudzianowski, a record five-time World’s Strongest Man champion, has signed with Polish mixed martial arts promotion KSW, according to Polish website mmarocks.pl.
He will be making his MMA debut at KSW 12 in December.
He began practicing martial arts at the age of 11 and holds a fourth kyu green belt in Kyokushin Karate. He has also competed in amateur boxing for several years.

I would love to see Mariusz against a jiu jitsu guy, lol...the guy would be torquing an arm bar, using all his weight and legs and Mariusz would just start curling the arm the guy's pulling on, lol then probably slam him and mount with 320lbs. of muscle on top of the jj guy.

No, but he'd have to make 265, which means he aint going to be 320. Secondly, with no wrestling to his game, he is the one who is prolly fighting off his back and in the US, that means he is eating a ton of elbows. I am no MMA fighter, but a 41 year old who loves the SPORT of BJJ. I last competed at 189, so I hardly think that Marius and I would be in the same class.

The only thing I was getting at is, at some point strength makes a difference, this isn't just a strong guy...this is most likely the strongest man in the world (he won WSM 5 times) that's quite a damn feat. He pulled a fucking plane for almost a minute.. and again this is practical real world strength, not fake bodybuilding strength, I can't even imagine how hard this guy's grip must be. That and he's been doing martial arts (Karate and Judo) since he was 13, and also did some boxing and kickboxing...this guy's no newb

FWIW, Pudzi was a Karateka before he got involved in strongman.
When I met him a few years ago he stretched before the strongman comp by doing some kicks.
Not saying Pudzi will do good.
But he has a solid background in MMA at least.
That shit about "green belt" must be wrong. I believe he's a black belt.

Once again, Gracie BJJ has spoken the correct.
Strength does play a role, but all that muscle requires oxygen, and that means he will gas FAST. I doubt he has maintained shoulder girdle flexibility to throw punches with authoritative "snap." And even if he was a judoka, their ne waza isn't as good as BJJ. Long story short, an organization should feed him a steady stream of cans (like Lashley is getting) and bring him along slowly. He needs to join a good camp where his skills and game can be developed. Otherwise he is just another freak show.

well, not wanting to be a pain in the ass (and not saying what my opinion on brock) but he IS the number 1 guy in the heavies in UFC , the biggest mma organization in the world...
why on earth would not be easy to him to beat a guy who is just starting in business now????

He is very atletic, has some fighting experience, and is A LOT more strong than Brock....hell, if Brock got the belt in UFC with similar characteristics, Pudzi can do well and win some money along the way (while maybe not being champion of nothing...)

Mariusz is an excellent athlete... and he knows how to fight... he is no muscle poser, he is REALLY STRONG, he will squeeeeeze some tits on mma... you'll see... Then mindspin will talk about excessive muscle, like he never did on Lesnar... fighting ability and pure strength is an explosive mix... Mariusz could defeat Penn by the first time he grabs him... Mariusz has insane grip...

Because Brock has the best double leg in the heavyweight division, he can dictate where the fight takes place. Not to mention, his rudimentary striking skills come with that HEAVY right hand, which we know is capable of putting GOOD fighters to sleep.
A heavyweight BJJ black belt is not going to attempt a submission on a guy that big and strong, they are going to get top, and beat the crap out of someone who doesn't know how to fight off his back. If he ever fights in the US (where the money is at), he'd have to cut to 265, which means he has to lose a ton of muscle mass. Not to mention, how the hell would he pass an athletic commision's drug test.
He is a freakshow like Lashley. At least Lashley is the master of one range of combat. Pudz is a freak of nature, no doubt, and is EASILY the strongest, but that is only a facet of fighting, and his limited game will prove to be a problem for him once he stops fighting cans.

He's continually getting smaller and softer for every fight.
Pudzi - I have a hard time seeing him going clean forever. But for short periods of time, when not training in Polski, he can get off.
Pudzianovski used to be a very good strongman when he weighed around 270 early in his career.
I think he would have no problem getting down to 265 TBH. He's not that tall and he's always been one of the (relatively) smallest strongmen.
His forte has never been max strength, but rather speed and endurance.

UFC is only now starting to randomize drug testing if he is so reliant of drugs well i guess HGH... im no expert on steriods but u dont lose all your gains anyways.

Oh brotha..... Never pass a drug test. The test is not Zuffas, or the UFC's. Rather it is the Athletic Commision of the state where the fight is to take place. If he were to ever pass the drug test, his "garbage truck" like crusher strength won't be quiet as formidable. Not to mention he'd have to make 265. If he doesn't have any TD defense, he will be on his back eating a plethora of elbows. Lets see how he does in European shows before we anoint him as the "Next Big Thing." See what I did there? ;D

Sorry but I've been through this many times. I left karate 2 decades ago, quickly realizing (with in 2 weeks) that boxing and tai boxing are supirior. On top of the fact you need ground fighting, or at least some ground defence.
Lyoto Machida used karate moves but not in the traditional sence. He holds his gaurd like a boxer and mixses in tons of moves that are not from karate, thus karate on it's own is an incompleat style, that needs major changes to be effective! Just try blocking with one arm down in a street fight and see what happens lol. Andy Huges and Cro cop, are also heavy on the karate style, but again they both mod the style a lot for use in the ring IMHO.

Karate alone will not get you far in a street fight or MMA bout. However, when combined with good takedown defense and infused with explosive power, it can be very effective, as Lyoto has shown.
