I was never a fan of Mattarazzo. Great calves ... but, in my opinion, that's really about it. I remember reading about Mike's diet ... he said something along the lines of, " I eat 3 to 4 pounds of meat a day ( this is not verbatim ... but certainly close to what he said ) ... " ... perhaps this is what led him to his downfall. Obviously Steroids as well.  :-\

Often times, the guys with great arms have chests or backs that are lacking (levrone and heath come to mind). Matarazzo also said he used to eat a jar of peanut butter a day.  thats pretty funny.

He had great genetics for big calves, his arms were huge, but lacked detail, and his front wasn't the best. His back wasn't wide, and had detail, but lacked the Rand-McNally look that Dorian, Ray, Flex, and Cormier had

True, and some with great chests have bad arms (Ruhl and Arnold both had small triceps...)

If you didn't look too carefully you might think that was Dennis Wolf's back on the left there - good upper back but nonexistent lower half

I got the chance to speak to him at a show and i remember seeing that he did eat four to five pounds of meat per day and he said, "Yes, i eat that much meat per day." Very nice guy and under appreciated.

he developed some arterial blockage over the years. He ended up having a triple bypass. Everything was plugged up. Some is genetics, but genetic faults can be excacerbated with excess.

He had good chest shape, but it was overpowered by his arms and shoulders.  His back was also not that impressive. He got owned in most back shots.
