Bush got us a few dozen permanent military bases to kick ass on Russia and CHina if they ever get froggy, and we now control 80% of Iraqi oil.

I'm all for wars for oil and bases. Don't get me wrong. I have mostly republican views.

But I worry about the impact the anti-American sentiment in so many countries will have. It's been 7 years of bullying them. What happens after 15 years? I worry about that. We used to be the greatest nation, in the eyes of most of the world. Now?

Go back to the 80's when pop culture of the Regan era bloomed to full capacity; remember how europe was reacting and resisting to "Mc Donalds" and "Coca Cola".. they hated us too back then for the exact same things as now.. they just now give a "different" reason...

I'm all for pilfering the world's resources. However, Putin's rebuilding, china's deal with Rus and Iran, and Putin's insistance that no caspian states help the US take Iran... these are scary moves - desperate moves - that they only did because they feared we'd take 3 or 4 or 5 nations for oil.

If there's one thing, Bush kept Putin in check. He hates American and you ought to know how the guy got into power in the first place to understand where he's going. He's a very dangerous man. Blackmailed the entire Yeltsin regime and walked his way up. He hates America and simply uses our "unpopularity" to pull the strings....
