"The biggest mistake I see in the gym is people trying to use too much weight and then swinging [the weights]. When they're not using good form, they're not getting the full benefit of the exercise. If they used less weight, they'd get a better pump and better results. Use the heaviest weight you can while maintaining good form." – Branch Warren, January 2005, Flex magazine.

bodybuilding is about working your head and body NOT throwing plats all around AND walking like something sticked between your legs!

But for pro bodybuilding, The result is everything. Nothing to do with how smart you are or brah brah brah...!
Anyway, you must do with good result. I saw Tom Platz training in Venice. And that was the most terrible workout i have ever seen.
But,he was the one of the best bber on earth and he knows what he is doing. So Branch does also.
So I just shut up or asking them why they are doing that. But,what i dont do is talking shit or laugh about their training.
I know they are proffesional and not that much stupid as we imagine.
We can talk shit about their training system when we get better result than them.

You dont need to look like them. But if you gain a lot of weight naturaly or beating some juicers in famous amateur contests is enough to earn the right to say anything to them, i guess.
But, some pros take same amount of shit and trains right way and still cant beat this Branch Warren. That is something what i am saying.

His DVD was very good.Yeah, they are a little dramatic, but compared to Jay Cutlers its a million times better. How about when Jay says "you don't ever want the weight to knowyour scared, but this is heavy ass weight" and then proceeds to do 405X 6 in the bent row.Wow!!Heavy ass weight. What a tool.

there is a bit in the dvd were his training partner thorws an unloaded barbell a couple of metres onto the floor... that was the funniest thing i have ever seen, if that happened at any normal gym they would never be allowed to come back

No,I do not think 405X6 in the bent row is heavy, and its especially not heavy when you weigh over 300 pounds and are a MR.OLYMPIA.In fact,Id go so far as to say its pathetic. How is it possible to handle 405 for reps in the bench and not in the bent row?

Honestly, i think a LOT of people can bench as much if not more than they can row. It probably shouldn't be that way, but it is.
No doubt about it...

But the question is, would he benefit from going heavier?

But i agree with what you say, Jays legs are huge, yet his weight for ALL leg exercises is unimpressive (for his size anyway). But this is bodybuilding...

Exactly. Thats why i shut up about their training. They are the experts of building muscle.

I guess.,maybe their concentration to the muscle is very high. Thats why they dont need that much weight. And also so afraid of muscle tear.
Thats my insight to their training.
