Weekend Run Includes Eating 12 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
Krispy Kreme RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A weekend run to benefit a children's hospital could have participants wishing they were in a hospital bed by the time they're done.
It's called The Krispy Kreme Challenge, and it's expected that some 1,000 runners will gather for the event Saturday morning. Proceeds will benefit the North Carolina Children's Hospital.
It works like this. Runners will start at the bell tower on the North Carolina State University campus. They'll run four miles from the tower to the Krispy Kreme restaurant on Peace Street on the edge of the state government complex. Once at the restaurant, runners have to eat a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Once they've downed the sweet treats, they have to run the four miles back to the bell tower.
And, by the way, they have to do it all in less than an hour.
