Since the Mayor fucked the dog two years ago following the City's lack of response during a snowstorm that hit NYC due to a lack of snow plows (among other things) he has been all over every single weather related event.
During Irene he was hopping up and down-- warning everyone to do this or that in a juvenile attempt to project leadership.
So this time around Hurricane Sandy puts the entire City under siege. The Mayors solution? Car Pool restrictions on vehicles entering Manhattan between 6am and Midnight.
As if that unimaginably stupid idea wasn't bad enough, Bloomberg followed that broken lightbulb with his endorsement of Barack Obama and then used this entire catastrophe as a platform to advance his personal phony global warming crusade.
Meanwhile this piece of shit still hasn't cancelled the NY Marathon despite the fact that it begins in Staten Island-- where dead kids are still washing up on the shore, people are eating from dumpsters and virtually no disaster relief has arrived.
My question is this-- while this fucking braindead twerp was pretending to be a leader and acting as if he had all the answers, did he once consider the fact that an extremely large portion of the Citys power grid could be shut down during a big storm? Did he consider that gasoline shortages could follow? Is he aware that Staten Island is part of the City?
Instead of banning big sodas and installing fucking bike lines and putting other inane traffic patterns all over the city, did he once take pause to consider how antiquated and ill equipped NYC's mass transit system is to handle severe weather? Instead of banning Trash bins at half the subway stations to reduce garbage, why didn't he consult some Civil Engineers to devise a contingency plan for inclement weather?
Banning transfats, banning sodas, banning smoking-- How about actually doing something to help the City?
Bloomberg is everything that is wrong with Politics and America at large. Far too many of those in power are Elitist pieces of trash that want to trample on the individual, possess no conception of reality, no self awareness and a shameless ego to boot.
