Title: Adrian Peterson - Will He Break 2,105?
Post by: ChopperRider on December 16, 2012, 06:18:45 PM
In an incredible comeback from a major knee injury, Adrian Peterson is 294 yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson's single season NFL rushing record.

Does Getbig think he will break the rushing record or not?

I say he will break the record.

(Bodybuilding related because all Getbig members are built like Peterson)

No will fall way short of it

If he's only 294 yards away, how will he fall "way" short?

Even if he gets 2,106 yards I'm not sure that is better than O.J.'s 2,003 in 14 games.

1 yard is close

2 yard is kinda close

3 yard is nice try

4 yards is way short

Two games left?  Depends on how good the opposing defenses are at stopping the run.

What is amazing about Mr. Peterson is that other teams game plan to stop him.  They know that Minnesota does not have a quarterback, yet he is still putting up amazing numbers and has his team in playoff contention.

There is no better combination of speed and power.

Holy fuck! Where the hell have I been at to miss any back... especially AP to accumulate that many yards this season? The Vikings must be trying to prove a point by running him that much. With so many teams splitting the workload between two running backs nowadays, we may not see anyone get this close to the season record anytime soon...

They've got 2 really tough games left, including having to travel to Houston, but even if they win out, they're not guaranteed to make the playoffs.

My prediction is they learn right before the last game that they're mathemtically out of the playoffs, so AP goes out and ends the year with a 300 yard rushing game to destroy the record :)

That chimp later became the first primate to be launched into space by NASA. Our country owes him a debt.

Minnesota doesn't help him either.  They could have easily given him 10 more carries yesterday but didn't.  Almost like the coach doesn't give him the carries to do so but when he breaks 70 and 80 yard runs the coach can't stop that.

They don't have a playoff berth locked up just yet. If they beat Green Bay sunday, they're in. If they lose they still can make it, but The Chicago Bears would have to lose to the Detroit Lions
-The New York Giants would have to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles
-The Dallas Cowboys would have to lose to the Washington Redskins.

I really hope Adrian breaks the record. I guy like him, loves the fucking game and had to sit for a good amount of last season with the torn ACL.  You see when you love a game so much, the way AP does, just sitting on the sidelines watching and not being able to participate hurts, it just grinds a mental hole in him not being able to be out there.

After sitting for that period of time and being forced to watch and not play, he is just going all out and giving it all he's got and them some. You see most RBs after a game and they look all beat up from being hit so much.  Not him - you see him in an interview post game and he just has a smile from ear to ear.

1 more week. Good luck Adrian -

I wouldn't say that. As I said earlier, it was just three weeks ago that AP gashed the GB defence for 210 yards on 21 carries. Not saying he's going to repeat that performance, but 208 yards is very doable for him againt a GB run defence that gives up an average of 111.9yds per game. The Vikes will give him every oppritunity to get it & his o-line will be very determined to see that he gets it.

at nine yards short , it was really playoffs or an incredible record what would of lasted 2 decades at most, they should of gone for the record, the Vikings wont do shit in the playoffs

I was praying they missed the FG so he could get it in OT.

What a phenomenal season by a phenomenal player. Best I've seen since Barry Sanders. Hope he wins MVP.

won't happen.  The NFL set unreal expectations for him and promoted the record so much that if he didn't break it he would lose the lustre to be the MVP.  They pump up Peyton but fuck him.  Why is he the MVP?  he went to a team that already was in the playoffs and that won a playoff game.  Denver lost 3 games to 3 great teams and Denver then runs through a bunch of scrub teams.  But the NFL loves, LOVES white MVPs.  just look back at the last 20 years.  Almost all WHITE MVPs.  When Barry Sanders was hands down the best in the NFL he had to share his MVP with Favre.  Complete bullshit.

Andrew LUCK should be MVP

Took that shitty team to the playoffs with a backup Head Coach, and they look to be a decent team in the playoffs too

Yes, for some reason Drew Brees is getting a free pass for this season because his coach was suspended but Luck isn't getting any love when he didn't have his coach either.
