I get a text, from a former client that needs some work done. asking about my availability and if I can please meet with her to discuss what she needs.
I just had two skin tags removed , a minor procedure, but I'm a little sore...so I tell her I just had a procedure done..I'm not 100 percent and I'll get back to her when I am.

The fact that you cannot recognise this, in conjunction with your obtuse ways, clearly indicates that you are very inexperienced when it comes to separate business relations and friend relations in regards to a client.
As a friend, yes, she should care and ask about your current health status.

I'm not judging you chief, I'm just explaining why I consider her actions correct and yours incorrect. If you feel hurt, and know her as a friend, then why not contact her and tell her that she hurt your feeling by being so callous?

A decent person could have worded it without being so rude, like "I understand you aren't feeling well, and I hope you feel better soon, but (for whatever reason) I am keen to get an estimate as to when I can get the job completed, I was hoping within the next two weeks.
