Let's say I go outside and pick up the nearest Hyundai or Toyota off the ground at the rear bumper.
About how much weight would that equate to deadlifting?

Not that much , alot of the weight is displaced due to leverage. ... maybe like 300 lbs to 400 max

a friend of mine was doing it and no way he would deadlift 700 lbs

it's weird, at a gym i used to train at we had a lot of strongman competitors who used to train for the events in the back parking lot and wew had a guy there who was just average at the gym lifts but could lift the shit out of the strongman events, dude could barely bench 300 or squat 350 but could overhead press a 290 pound log, do the farmers walk with a pair of 250 pound tanks, could flip cars, lift big ass stones, could overhead push press a 190 pound dumbbell with one arm, crazy shit.

Yeah man seen strange shit like that too, saw a guy who could deadlift 440 and squat 315 for a couple but also did a 750 pound yokewalk for 60 feet, no stops.
I was absolutely struggling with a 500 pound yoke, but outlifted him in the gym.

yep, event training is probably more important than gym training, Phil Pfister is the perfect example of that, dude wasn't a monster in the gym, i think he benched about 390-400, squatted like 550-575 but was awesome at the events.

You have a good eye my man. Actually 0.04%. A few days after the pic was taken I was attacked by ninjas and had to quit the sport.

How about those old lady's who leap into action and DL/hold up a car, while people drag a little kid out from under it? Holding it up for over a minute, at times. And in most all cases, even after a few days, they might feel a little sore but no big deal. No pulled ligaments, tendons or muscles. Even in the lower back area.
If a chimpanzee is estimated to be at least 8 to 10 times &guy as a normal adult man, with much less bwt, than how strong could a human really be. Guy's and women on PCP/Angles Dust can be extremely strong, breaking cuff's at will. And they normally are skinny and look like walking death. Time for those 2000lb Dl's and squats to be a common thing if the mind set is right. How about throwing a little kid under a DL bar for motivation and world records?
Side Bar: used to push up hill and front/rear bumper DL an old Jeep Wrangler. But that was pretty light. Had to some times when caught in loose sand. Fun any way.

This is me deadlifting a renault clio. Felt very light. 400lbs maybe absolute max.
From the back i know a guy (my trainer actually) who deadlift it at a strongman comp had a best of say 240kg dead, he said it was easy. So maybe 200kg or 440lbs

From the rear, the weight in the hands is fuck all, usually claimed to be 600lbs, but from watching friends who have PISS POOR deadlifts and gym strength, experience tells me otherwise.
The car deadlift for reps is a regular event in many regional and certainly national strongman shows, and most of the lower tier guys wouldnt budge 600+ and definitely not for reps.
Picking cars up at the rear is not too hard, shit you can often see piss artists doing it on a friday night at 1am on some poor girls 1.3litre.
Youtube should have loads of clips of pretty average guys just doing it.

me too, i was doing all that shit, heavy rack work, sandbag stuff, bottom positon squats and benches, thick bars, etc. then i realized it didn't do anything beyond what regular lifting did. ;D

i'm sure you could do it, you're a 200 pound guy who lifts and is strong, it's very doable.
