you guys are hilarious... would rather argue an idea than facts. Because facts arent on your side...

so... will someone tell me what the US Death toll is for the Ebola virus since late august?

In the US?  One?  So what?  You wanna argue facts?

"The average EVD case fatality rate is around 50%. Case fatality rates have varied from 25% to 90% in past outbreaks."

Didn't I just say 1?  This thing just got started.  The facts?

Yeah, you are right.  It's not a big deal.  It's only highly contagious with a very high mortality rate.  That's all.

Why would I care.  The death toll is not what concerns me and I have repeatedly stated that.   You're an absolute hypocrite.  You bring up statistics only when its suites you.  Don't you have medical training?  Why don't you get your ass involved helping your brothers and sisters in Africa.

last i heard it was 3000 something, 50-70% mortality rate.

I think its a little early for you to ask that quesion specific to the US considering we only had 1 guy come in (last week at that), and hes already infected 2 others, 1 of which exposed up to several hundred passengers. A 737 carries 180 passengers, and a jet the size to go that distance probably carries closer to to 250 or 300. Thats at least 500 people that may have been exposed.

Its too early to tell how this is going to play out, but it pays to be smart, rather than pretend like this shit isnt serious.

Nigeria is almost next door to the epicenter of the epidemic and has managed to eradicate new cases after an initial outbreak. They have contained it so effectively that the CDC will probably declare the country officially ebola free within a matter of days. The countries that are feeling the brunt of it are poorer countries that aren't equipped to handle it. As scary as it is dealing with something new and deadly like this, it's not Armageddon. Option D's posts have been right about the unlikelihood of there being an epidemic here.

Nigeria?  Right, right.  Are these effective containment methods politically correct in rich, western nations?

how do you figure 2.5 months? The 1st case that actually was on the streets happened last week or the week before. And hes dead now, and he infected 2 others, one of whom flew with symptoms and may have infected a bunch more.

i was using a different timeline. The ebola saga started for me when a close friend of mine with the CDC went to Libera, that was in early August.  But in the US, it was the one guy that was in dallas, as a confirmed case that lead to death.. 1 in 2 weeks..

And every single one of these happened because of negligence, ignorance and an attitude just like Option D's attitude toward this virus.

Nigeria is one of the more developed countries in Africa. But, yeah, the CDC and the World Bank have both held Nigeria up as examples of what other nations should do to combat ebola.

Obama’s Ebola Cluster****

obama remain calm

So what would make Barack Obama cancel a fund raiser?

ISIS on the move? Nope. Beheadings of Americans? Nope. On the golf course in ten minutes. A first American Ebola victim? Took a few more minutes, but straight to the golf course. A second beheading victim? Nope.

So what did it take? A poll. Obama's ratings are sinking faster than the Titanic.

President Barack Obama’s approval rating is at the lowest level of his presidency, a new poll says.
According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll released Wednesday, 40 percent of Americans approve of Obama’s job performance, the lowest score the poll has recorded since he took office. His rating is down 1 point from September.

Now in panic mode, Obama has canceled fundraisers for Thursday as well. He wants you to know he's concerned and on the job. It's all about the optics.

Where did it go wrong for Obama? pleads Amie Parnes at The Hill. Well, Amie, let's do a little review first.

You can keep your plan no matter what.
 You can keep your doctor.
 You'll save $2500 per year.
 It's not a tax.
 Shovel ready.
Al Qaeda is on the run
 Al Qaeda is decimated
 ISIS is the JV
We leave behind a stable and sovereign Iraq
I didn’t set a red line, the world did
 I got bad intel
The tide of war is receding
The world is less violent than it has ever been
I ended the war in Iraq.
 200 rounds of golf
 400 fundraisers

You'd be well advised not to believe a thing Obama says.

Remember when Obama assured us that Ebola wouldn't see an outbreak on US shores?

First and foremost, I want the American people to know that our experts, here at the CDC and across our government, agree that the chances of an Ebola outbreak here in the United States are extremely low.

It's hard to believe what has gone down since.

Ebola is a Biosafety Level Four Pathogen. That's as dangerous as it gets. The use of positive pressure suits is highly recommended when handling the Ebola virus, Ebola victims or any wrappings with which they come into contact, including bed sheets and refuse. What most don't know is that specific protocols are required not only for contact with Ebola victims but in the removal of the biohazard suits as well.

Despite being assured by Obama and Tom Frieden, the Obama appointed hack who runs the CDC, all is not well.

The Obama regime raided the Gibson guitar factory in 2009 and 2011, claiming that the specific type of wood used in some Gibson guitars is not permitted into this country. Bagpipes have been confiscated at the border.

Gibson guitar wood not allowed in the US. Bagpipes not allowed in the US. Ebola? Sure, why not?

You are pathetic.
