Poll: Mike Huckabee leads 2016 GOP hopefuls

In the wake of his “Uncle Sugar” comments at the Republican National Committee Winter Meeting, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has taken the lead in a hypothetical 2016 Republican primary, according to a new poll.

Huckabee gained 3 points in the past month to top the GOP field at 16 percent, according to a left-leaning Public Policy Polling survey released Wednesday.

Behind him were former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, at 14 percent; New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, at 13 percent; Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, at 11 percent; and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio tied at 8 percent.

Both Christie and Cruz suffered major falls in support in the past month, each losing 6 points since December.

Haha. I swear American presidential elections are one of two things. It's either posed as a reality TV show where you voted for your favorite contestant, or it's the Christian insane getting face time.

It's part good fun, part worrying.

He's fat as fck right now.  NO WAY he's running.   I wonder if he "left" his show because he has gained so much weight, and might not be fit for television, and it was a graceful way to part ways.

Huck got fat.  He's not getting into the race.  He might be hoping to be a VP pick to lube up the base, but really, he's just lackin self control with his weight now.

Christie is getting skinny, but he's a lifetime liberal, the record shows that.  Nobody will disagree with me. They can't.

He's a rino...and while he has some fiscal conservatism in there he's a blue state repub. I like his attitude but his policies are blue dog democrat. Scott Walker....

I like Huck as a person but his shtick and beliefs are 1950's America and that time has past.

Huck has become TOO divisive since joining FOX news.

back in 2008, he was a gentleman, trying to bring people TO his way of thinking.

Since then, he's become an attack dog, and he's not built for that.  not flattering.  His job has been to do nothing but point out everything wrong with the "other" side... shitting on higher education a great deal.  The 2008 Huck wasn't like that, AT ALL. 

The 2008 huck was gracious and respectful.  The 2015 version creates a bigger division.
