Romney: The Price of Failed Leadership
« on: March 18, 2014, 01:25:29 PM »
Since the Russians and Uks appear to be shooting at each other now I thought I'd post on what could have been had you people voted for an adult. But hey...Barry has his brackets ready......we're fucking doomed!

(Troops stormed a Ukrainian base on the outskirts of Simferopol on Tuesday, according to a Ukrainian military spokesman.

One Ukrainian officer was reported to have been wounded in the neck. There was no immediate indication of who was behind the incident, although Kyiv soon afterwards said Russia was responsible for the attack.

Immediately after the incident, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said the conflict had moved from a political to a military stage.

“Today, Russian soldiers began shooting at Ukrainian servicemen,” said Yatseniuk. “This is a war crime)

Why, across the world, are America's hands so tied?
A large part of the answer is our leader's terrible timing. In virtually every foreign-affairs crisis we have faced these past five years, there was a point when America had good choices and good options. There was a juncture when America had the potential to influence events. But we failed to act at the propitious point; that moment having passed, we were left without acceptable options. In foreign affairs as in life, there is, as Shakespeare had it, "a tide in the affairs of men which, taken at the flood leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries."

...

Able leaders anticipate events, prepare for them, and act in time to shape them. My career in business and politics has exposed me to scores of people in leadership positions, only a few of whom actually have these qualities. Some simply cannot envision the future and are thus unpleasantly surprised when it arrives. Some simply hope for the best. Others succumb to analysis paralysis, weighing trends and forecasts and choices beyond the time of opportunity.

President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton traveled the world in pursuit of their promise to reset relations and to build friendships across the globe. Their failure has been painfully evident: It is hard to name even a single country that has more respect and admiration for America today than when President Obama took office, and now Russia is in Ukraine. Part of their failure, I submit, is due to their failure to act when action was possible, and needed.

Blacken....maybe...but his point on the small excerpt I posted was that Obama's timing sucks and that we've not gotten anybody to respect us. Everybody respects strength, Obama oozes pussy. Hil would have done a better job.

i still can't believe obama..... who was just so beatable in 2012... managed to wreck romney like that.  unreal.

after that first debate, romney had him on the ropes... weak, tired, looking deflated.  I Just don't know what happened to change things at that point.

Romney really should be president right now.  I dont know how he'd handle it all that differently... I mean, bush/obama ain't that much different, to be honest, so romney would have been more of the same, I think.

Has nothing to do w Romney but a retarded public who fall for all the bs.   Anyone w a pulse knows Romney was a more responsible choice.  Instead you have the straws, lurkers, blackens of the world going to voting booth based on Sandra fluke, romneys' dog, etc.

Obama played to the morons of the society and it worked.

One could argue that the majority of Americans are morons, and democracy is clearly working.

Morons choose a moron to represent them.   Is that a fair statement?

At least 51% of the nation = idiots?

That's an odd statement to make considering you voted for Obama twice....

The Romney's dog thing DID resonate with me.  How does that make me a moron?

Sadly... I think Biden really might beat Romney.

Think about it... Obama was tired, a laughingstock, the economy in the tank, the shitty taste of forced obamacare in everyone's mouth...

and he still lost to Obama by what, 50+ electoral votes?  Wasn't even close.

Obama, with all his baggage and a laundry list of why he sucked... destroyed Romney.   Sorry, but the base hates romney and moderates just didn't like him either.

I know repubs feel the need to defend anything repub... but really, if you want to win elections, you keep palin, romney, and every other reminder of what a losing party looks like AWAY from the 2016 RNC.... look forward with leaders that can defeat any dem... not candidates that weren't able to beat an illegal kenyan socialist with hussein in his name.

And he was supposed to "restore" our standing around the world.  He is an absolute embarrassment.
