I believe that I am a qualified candidate to either supplement or replace MindSpin on the General Topics board. I encourage the mods to consider my application and if appropriate, put it to the public for a vote (perhaps shitsoak can be included in the vote as well).
Here is a brief list of reasons of why I ought to mod the board:
1. I am not shitsoak.
2. I am a friend of non-Wiggsian Hebrews and have a consistent post history defending them.
3. Virtually all of my posts are about general topics rather than bodybuilding, making me a veritable expert on the board's topic(s).
4. I am the Editor & Chief (alongside IronMeister) of G&O Monthly, a one-time sticky on the G&O and reputed industry publication disseminating critical news to getbiggers of all stripes.
5. I'll mod about as much as MindSpin, thus preserving getbiggerian free speech.
6. I am the author of multiple scientific articles on bodybuilding topics (e.g., http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=459976.0 and http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=460095.msg6738104;topicseen#msg6738104)
7. My post on the women's board evince the fact that I can turn of the trolling, so I won't abuse the privileges of mod-dom.

I'll also observe in passing that since there isn't exactly a compelling need for a replacement at present, my name could simply be placed in the pile of applications for such time as when a replacement is deemed necessary.

Lets get one thing straight. I am for the betterment of Getbig. Mindspin needs to be replaced on the forums he moderates. Let getbig decide Mindspin's replacement. It could be one person for all of his boards, or a different person for each. I just want active mods.

I meant in the sense that people run for the position they want. People vote for who they think would do the best job. That is how we should choose every moderator from now on. Let it be known that I was one of the first to nominate OMR to be a mod. The people wanted OMR.
When there comes a time to pick new mods, the people should have a say.
I say this because I think it is the best way. I think it would actually hurt me. I do not think that I would garner the popular vote :D

It could easily work both ways.

I can't speak for others, but I haven't "request[ed]" modship; I've simply specified that I'd like to be considered when (if) a time comes when a new mod is deemed necessary.
Further, it was a defensive move given the quality of the other candidate who has stepped forth -- the board shouldn't be subject to that.
