A lot of people don't realize that in his early days, Arnold Schwarzenegger was a top ranked, record setting Power-Lifter.

He was a world beater in power-lifting, don't let that highschool theater setting think you otherwise :)

In one of the dozens of MuscleMag International tributes to the Oak, it lists among his credit winning a European powerlifting championship.

His buddy, Franco Columbu, was a champion powerlifter too. Back in the day, even before Arnold's time, bodybuilders also participated in Olympic lifting, powerlifting, or strongman events. If I'm not mistaken, old AAU contests used to have a weightlifting portion before the bodybuilding competition. And the winner was the guy who looked the best overall and lifted the most.
