Jacko may well be the greatest, along with "THE BEATLES" (if groups even count), but I have to admit I was hoping it would be a thread about this guy, for me the great entertainer:

quincy jones was the real mastering genuis behind all mj hits... Let's not forget lyrics and singers are great, but musicians and writers are as great as them.
i d like to know if he really was a pedophile or if he was just weird... Probably had to pay lying assholes doesnt mean he was guilty.

oh btw..

Beats any shitty female singer of today, was said to be better than dion at some point, before she died. Can barely tell the difference between live and studio enhanced version.

Better in music and entertaining than Jordan was in basketball. IMO, the best all time. I can't watch his stuff now with tearing up a little. I'm glad I grew up in the 80s and 90s to have witnessed his greatness. It breaks my heart he went out the way he did.

Rest in Peace.

Weird. I found him to be out of touch with the world and a legit freak, albeit it may not have been his fault. Its sad what his father did to him and the fact that he grew up out of touch with reality from an early age.

IMO Paul McCartney is the greatest entertainer of the 20th century.

Al Jolson is often considered the best ever.

I hardly think he was the greatest but I will give him some credit for using blackface to help blacks advance in the music industry rather than to mock and ridicule them.

Never wrote one song.

He wasn't the greatest musician. But he probably was the best entertainer.

of course she is.. or was !

not as 'big' as jackson, but i'd say she was the female equivalent of... in the pop world.

Madonna was like a prop comic. It was everything around her on stage that made her entertaining. She can't come close to MJ and Elvis...

I remember reading something that summed it up nicely.A guy working at a tv store would put music dvds of concerts on to try to get people to buys tvs, on the tvs in the window and in the store, he tried all musicians with very little interest from the public, when he put Michael Jackson on he noticed people would just stop what they were doing and stand there and watch, business went up.

Yeah man, something about him and his music put peoples brains on a higher vibration. He hypnotizes people and I don't think I can say another solo artist has ever done such a thing. Here's what made him special: All races and All ages loved him.  You cannot say that about any other artist to the degree he did it. He was amazing.
