Title: The Arnold classic will be have EXACTLY THE SAME placings as 2005
Post by: M1 on January 12, 2006, 11:22:51 AM
The AC has exactly the same people in it as last year:

There will be exactly the same placings as last year  :o

1. Dexter
2. Cormier
3. Badell
4. Priest
5. Anthony
6. Darrem Charles

The only guys who might possibly shake it up and make top 6 are Dennis James and Victor Martinez

The competition this year is like super steep, I don't know why guys like Mark Dugdale, Chris Cook, Dave Henry, Tony Freeman etc bother competing in this show when they're almost certain not gonna make the top 6 and qualify for the O :-\

They're better off doing the Colorado Pro or New York Pro when the competition is less steep  :o :o :o

he might make 8th tops, but he won't be beat Priest, Dexter, Cormier, James, Anthony, Badell, Martinez.... :-\

You need one of those guys to be off before he will place higher, he's too unknown, yeah he's good, but he doesn't name or the recognition yet, he hasn't his dues yet

AMEN. This guy got screwed at "the O" this year and he will be back hungry and as always training like an animal. The look on his face when Jaw Gutler got the best wheel award was priceless...

This year he will make a comeback like he did in 1980. Screw everybody again. The rise of the Nazis

Calling it now, Warren will win.   every weakness on dex is a strength for warren, such as :quad separation, V-taper (not A taper), calves, and every one of dex's strengths, save for maybe arm thickness, warren matches him or beats him: abs, chest, back, conditioning , mass and symmetry.   And if anyone has a problem with me calling branch symmetrical in spite of his freak factor, i'd like everyone to remind themselves of dex's lack of calves, his A-taper and his ever expanding waistline.
If this isn't symmetry and dexter IS, i'm confused then...

Looking at the pic you posted Traps i'm inclined to agree w/you.However both guys are very symmetrical IMO.Myself, looking at Branch's body I would like to see his lats insert more in line, when looking at him head on, w/his navel.Case of his genetic structure more than anything however. His waist is just a tad too wide (nothing major) when viewed from the front & he can make do w/just a touch more upper arm size.Everything else is very complete on the guy.

Yes Sculpter, i agree that they are both VERY symmetrical bodybuilders, it just bothers me that people will hail dex as the sultan of symmetry and just label branch a massive freak and nothing else.  I like dex a lot and think he probably will win, but i just have an inkling that branch will make good on his claims to bring up his arms and back even more, which could make him nearly flawless combined with his mass and munzer like conditioning.  This guy has never not backed up the improvements he's said he's needed to make.  He waited for the pro's because he wanted to improve and did.  Then he took off more time after the first round of shows and improved even more.  It'd be foolish to doubt this guy at this point in time.  Should be a great show, and i'd really like to see branch and gustavo get a lot of comparisons because at teh Olympia i think Warren woulda made badel look smoothe (which as ridiculous as it sounds, is true for anyone compared to warren), blocky and incomplete.

Agreed & to go 1 step further IMO Warren's conditioning could have been compared favorably or surpassed any of the top 4 guys in the last Mr O.

Very true, in my opinion he definetely bested cutler.  Cutler has all the size in the world, but he's so blocky now that his gut has grown that he just looks like a parody of what he once was and what made him so great.

He doesn't touch his 2001 form any longer, its really sad.  When he came in looking like he did in 2001 i was amazed, but now... he just looks, well... not so good.

I agree with you for the most part, but Warren does not match Dex on any of the back shots. Branch's back doesn't even stand up to Johnnie's (as seen in bfto 05 posing). He as thick as all hell, but until he adds the detail (much like cutler was earlier in his career).

Irregardless of his condition - Branch will get screwed. I give him a number 6 placing.
